Great even for side sleepers.

This is a fantastic sleep pad. I am 200+ lbs and sleep on my side. Can't speak highly enough of this camping pad. Much better than several others I have tried. Packs smaller than all the others I have too. Easy to inflate and comfort is shocking for a camp pad.

More comfortable than my bed

Best camping mattress I have ever used. I was skeptical about the price tag but easily worth it. I put it on top of my Coleman cot and it’s almost more comfortable than my bed at home. Does require 5-10 puffs of air to fully inflate, but a minor inconvenience given its quality and weight—it’s very light. Color is actually a faint blue although looking gray in the pics. When using with a cot I suggest using three 48” flat bungees to hold in place. It can move while on a cot. I just toss the bungees in the carrying bag it comes with. Highly recommend.

Very comfortable for camping!

I have been on many camping trips in the past four years and I love this style of camping pad. This 4 inch thickness is the way to go! I have slept on this pad directly on the ground while in a tent and I have also used this pad on top of a cot and I have found it to be very comfortable (compared to all other camping pads I have tried). Pros: - Self inflating... there is no need to find electricity or to pack an air blower. Simply open the outer valve then spin the one way valve to allow air to flow into the pad. It may take a few days for the pad to fully 'inflate' the first time you use it so plan to do this prior to first use. Anytime I go camping, I allow the pad to fully inflate the night before as well, it seems to help the foam expand a little quicker the following day. - Adjustable firmness... once the pad is fully inflated I prefer to press some air out of the pad with my two knees before I reposition the one way valve and close the outer cap. This gives the pad a softer firmness. Don't let out too much air or you'll bottom out on the ground. - No built in pillow... I like that this camping pad is completely flat on both sides since I seem to sleep less well on pads that have built in 'pillows'. - Deflates easily... Turning the one-way valve so it only allows air out of the pad makes the pad easier to deflate since it prevents air from rushing back into the pad between folds. It does take some effort and body weight to roll up the pad so it may be difficult for a child. Cons: - Size... Since this pad is 4 inches thick, it takes up more room when it's rolled up so this pad is far too large to take hiking. The rolled up pad is about the size of a large folded folding chair. - Price... At $169 at the time of this writing, this pad seems overpriced in my opinion. It is a Coleman camping pad, which is known for having good quality products but for what this is, it seems too high. - Valve Style... since the one-way valve can be removed from the valve housing, it's possible this part could get lost. As long as the main cap is still attached to the pad, the pad should still be usable. Overall, I am very happy with this camping pad and some of the best nights of sleep I have had while camping was while I used this pad on top of a forgiving cot. If the price is too high for you, consider searching for similar style camping pads and you may be surprised by what you find.

Convenient and comfy...kinda

So...there are quite a few things to love about this camping pad. But there are also some things that are not great...so let's do a list of pros and cons that will hopefully help you make an informed purchasing decision... Pros: Small footprint. It rolls up fairly small, which is handy for storage and for saving space in the car. It inflates quickly. It appears to be well constructed. Coleman generally makes good camping gear and this looks to be consistent with that quality. It is fairly comfortable. I mean, it's a sleeping pad so you kind of know what to expect there. Once it's inflated it does stay that way for at least a day or two. It it long enough to accommodate a taller person. Cons: In my opinion, the price point is too high for this item. ($169.99 as of this writing) Not a knock on Coleman's quality, because as I mentioned above, they make great products. But I just think that is simply too much for what this is. It is comfortable, but it can and does bottom out, especially on say, the 2nd day of use. I would think well...maybe I just ate too many smores LOL but this happened even when there was a much smaller person on it. If you keep it inflated fully this is not a big deal but...still. It is long but also narrow. If you are someone who moves around a lot, this could be a problem. I get that these are all somewhat narrow, but this one seems a little more so than others. This makes it handy to say, throw in the back of an SUV for car camping, but not as convenient if you are sleeping in a tent. Overall, this is a nice pad and it definitely has a lot of positives. If it was around $85-90 it would be perfect!

Most comfortable pad but hard to travel with

Summary: I would whole-heartedly recommend this if all you care about is a sleeping pad that is quick to inflate and that you don't care portability on flights. This would be an even better deal at less than $150. I am a bit conflicted on this review because this sleeping pad is one of the most comfortable pads I've ever used. It's more supportive and insulative than my Klymit and Therm-a-Rest. But I mean, at 4inches, it should be this comfortable. It's basically like a memory foam mattress topper. The self-inflating feature even in fully open mode is a bit slow. Which makes sense cause this thing is big. At the end, I did have to blow into it to get it to my comfort level but overall, under 3 minutes isn't bad. I am disappointed though because Coleman does have other pads where you could use the accessory cover/carrying bag to collect air and blow it into the valve. The main thing that really detracts me from giving this a perfect score is that it will be hard for me to transport this on my flights. It's 30inches long and has foam in it. It's absolutely not going to fold in half and then I can roll it up. But for road trips, this will be fine and if you're a car camper, this is basically a dream to have.
