Perfect replacement for our pocket door

Only took 5 minutes to take off the old broken door lock and to install the new one. Works as it should.

Perfect replacement for old part

Our house was built over 20 years ago, and things like the door fixtures are starting to show their age. I have a pocket door leading to a bathroom, and was looking to replace the tarnished fixture to match the rest of the hardware. I couldn't find any manufacturer markings on the old one, but the dimensions listed in the description seemed to be a close match, and the picture looked very similar to what was already installed. I was pleased to get the unit and find out that it was indeed a perfect drop in replacement to the 23 year old unit, which made installation a snap. I literally just lined it up and screwed it into the existing holes. As expected, the finish matched the antique brass of the other door knobs (also Schlage) perfectly. This unit seems to be made just as good as the old one, and overall I am very pleased.

Looks good

Product is sturdy and I have bought a number of pocket door locks and installed myself. This lock is very hard to lock and unlock. A adult should be able to handle it but my for my kids so difficult I put pliers with plastic teeth in bathroom so they can lock/unlock door. Does seem well built hardest pocket door lock to lock unlock I've ever owned.

Good fit.

Purchased this for the carpenters installing a new pocket door for me. It seemed to fit fine, but it wasn't the heft or quality of the one it replaced.

Functional while it lasted

Installed easily. I used a sawzall (reciprocating saw) for the cutout. The finish, while not high-end, is not too cheap looking. Another reviewer notes the latch as stiff to turn, but it feels just about right to me: I didn't feel friction; only spring pressure. The design requires a decent amount of spring tension to keep it latched firmly. And that's where mine failed-- the bar spring broke after 16 months of infrequent use. As the price is nice, I'm back for one more try. Maybe I just received a brittle one.

Works as advertised

This was a replacement bathroom pocket door lock for the house we just bought. The cutout of the door was already done so installation was super easy for me. Lock fit perfectly and locks. The only complaint I have is the handle pull indentation is a little shallow and not the easiest. The lock functions easy. Reversing the lock handles was simple.
