Solved water hammer on sprinkler system
Just installed a sprinkler system over winter and upon startup, I immediately noticed the water hammer as each zone valve turned on and off. Purchased the Shark Bite arrestor, installed in about 3 minutes. Cycled my sprinkler system and problem solved.

Worked perfectly for banging sprinkler supply
My 1" sprinkler supply line would bang so hard the entire house could hear it every single time any sprinkler zone turned on. Finally, I got fed up and bought the most expensive plumbing fitting ever. I tried to install and I MESSED UP, NOT THE PART. If your installation is leaking, it will likely be a DRAMATIC LEAK because 1" pipe carries a lot of water. This is entirely avoidable if you just do it right the first time. Luckily, sharkbite allows you to disconnect and reconnect fittings. My first attempt involved trying to install the fitting by cutting out a small section of 1" pipe, this will not work. You must cut a larger section of pipe out and use a 1" slip fit coupling otherwise you will not be able to properly seat both ends of the pipe inside the water hammer arrestor. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS INSTALL WITHOUT ALSO PURCHASING A 1" SLIP-FIT COUPLING. If your 1" supply is running parallel between two joists (or close to it), you will need to drill a 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" hole in the side of one of your joists so that you can fit the water hammer arrestor. Finally, the good news: This part worked PERFECTLY. I now cannot hear when my sprinkler system turns on a zone unless I am directly underneath the sprinkler supply line. Dramatic improvement, very pleased! Absolutely worth the cost for this water hammer arrestor.

Fails after a few years
Easy to install, worked great for a few years. This had to arrest the water hammer on my sprinkler once per day for about 5 months a year for a few years before it died.

Did the trick
Fixed annoying water hammer that resonated through entire house. Install tool less then 1 minute in pex line that has a little slack in it. Even bought used off Amazon, had shape defect in two of the ports not sure from what, still worked, no leaks. Note, I installed with the hammer arrestor IN LINE with the shock wave, not perpendicular. In other words I followed the instructions that came on the small yellow sheet. Worked like a charm.

Expensive, but worth it if you don't want to solder. Works perfectly and goes together exactly like they claim.
Expensive, but if you don't know how or don't want to learn how to solder, the SharkBite fitting system is surprisingly good. I had a bad water hammer caused by an outdoor spigot. Water hammers are very hard on pipes and I was a little dubious as to whether this system was going to work in a system that hammers. But I unsoldered the pipe at an existing 90 and cleaned up the ends of the pipe. I slipped the SharkBite fittings on along with the hammer suppressor and it was water tight immediately. I had my wife at the spigot that was causing the hammer and we exercised the fitting and hammer suppressor as hard as we could with no evidence of stress at the device. I also bought the Deburring (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000K6QFSU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) tool that is supposed to help you get the pipe set into the SharkBite to the right depth, but honestly, you just slide it all the way in so I don't really know if that tool is necessary and for $10, I don't think it's worth it.. Also, that tool does not appear to be a de-burring tool, just a gauge that gives you a proper depth. I do suggest the disconnect clip though. I test fit the TEE once and without that disconnect clip, it would have been much harder to get it back apart for installation and for $3, it's worth it. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FPDFBQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

From shaking shed to simple hum
I installed a backup water system in the back yard lifetime shed. I was organizing one day and the whole shack shook. I immediately checked the pump only to find it wasn't on, it was the water hammer effect shaking the whole shed that was built on 60 deck blocks. For reference the shed was 14x8 feet, so the floor is super solid. This little device prevents massive shaking. I first encountered these on a hot water heater, now I know why they are there.

1/2 PEX line. Water well supplied home
Works as advertised! I installed a sprinkler system this summer. Even though it have an expensive vacuum break / check valve going from the main line to the sprinkler system I had a water hammer. Every time the sprinkler valves would shift from one zone to another I could hear it in my attic hammering. At first I thought I had squirrels or some animals in my attic. Even bought some traps. With the sounds still happening I was in my attic when I heard the water line clearly. Bought This little gem, installed it in less than 2 minutes. Turned the well back on. Fired up the sprinklers while I sat in my attic shuffling threw the zones ( I can control it with my phone). No more hammering. This little thing is great !!! Good buy for anyone with these issues.

Easy to install!
It is easy to install but in my case did not solve my hammer water problem. You must install it close to the hammer source and this was not my case. It was a tentative but anyway is protecting my pipes.
