More of a dark bronze than black. The floor lamp is missing the felt padding for the base.

It is a decent lamp for the money

This lamp is unique and looks good, with an industrial vibe. It doesn't always line up correctly when you put it together and if that happens the electric cord at the bottom is more towards the front or side of the lamp instead of at the back. If that happens, we discovered that it can be fixed but it requires tipping the lamp on its side, taking the bottom middle apart and reassembling it--not exactly user friendly. Other than that it works as we had hoped. Another thing and its not a deal breaker, is that the wheels at the top are plastic, not metal. It may make a difference to some but it really looks fine when the lamp is assembled. I would recommend this lamp as long as you don't mind the above mentioned specifics. Hope this helps you!

Cool Looking Lamp - But didn't like the downlight right above me

This is a cool looking lamp that looked perfect above my reading chair. But the light, even at the highest elevation, was too close to my head and was uncomfortable to sit under in terms of the intensity of the bulb right above me. It also only illuminates the area right below the light. So if you're looking for something that lights up a room, this isn't it. Bummed to return it as it definitely looked cool.

I wanted to love it!

I was looking to update my lighting and thought this lamp was perfect. However, it turned out to be pretty annoying. The design of the shade and the exposed bulb only provided light in a limited area, and the glare from the bulb was more than I could take. I was disappointed because I love the design, but I returned it.

About what you'd expect

It's about what you'd expect for the price. A workable lamp, but inexpensive finish and pretty cheaply made overall. Definitely pay attention to the dimensions, as others have mentioned. It's not small.

Gorgeous pully lamp with perfect chrome finish, very heavy material, also functions as office decor.

I love the size, heft and chrome finish of the lamp. Absolutely gorgeous!
