It's just Ok. Wouldn't buy again. Dim light.
This fan is just OK. I wouldn't buy it again and here are the cons: 1. Short down rod doesn't allow fan to move air very well. Honeywell should have made options for a longer rod. 2. The light is too dim. Its brightest setting is like dim mood lighting. My living room doesn't have any other lights, so the light is almost worthless for my set up. (see 2nd pic, that's the brightest it goes). 3. The reverse button is on the fan, so you have to get on a ladder and change it that way if you want. 4. High setting isn't very high. Comparing to other fans I'd say the high on this is a medium with most other fans. 5. Build instructions for the electrical and the mounting part are terrible and it's kinda cheaply made so I broke a couple things but drilled new holes and used my own screws. Pros: 1. It is very quiet 2. Has a remote. Tons of buttons that I will never remember what they do (pictures on back help). 3. I have the dark color and it's pretty. Overall it's an OK fan. I couldn't find any Honeywell replacement parts for it so if any of it goes out, you have buy a new one. I'm not happy about that. Would be better in a bedroom that has other ceiling light and where you wouldn't need a ton of air movement.

Quiet with smooth air distribution
Just put it up, so the initial impression is that this is a nice fan. First time hooking it up, it worked as advertised. The instructions are pretty clear and I had no problem understanding them. The light is bright and the remote works good. There is little to no delay from the pressing of a button to it’s response. It’s a good looking fan, too. This is a heavy fan and you should really have a hard point to hang this from. The cable that is attached is good for a safety measure in case the hanging point fails. All in all, it’s a nice fan.

Moves air
Nice big fan that moves the air around a large room. Very quiet. If you want a noisy fan to help you fall asleep this isn’t it.

Hummmmmmmmmm & yellow light
That's what it sounds like. Hummmmm. And the light is way too yellow warm, like 2700k or lower. It's not hard to make the light color tenp selectable. Lazy manufacturer. Grrrr The only pro is that I was able to bypass the remote receiver to wire to a Lutron Caseta smart fan wall control switch and a light dimmer (which for some reason is hard to find on many fans) so i don't need arenote, and it looks nice, so I'll raise the review to 4.

A nice fan but it doesn't move as much air as my older Hampton did. One missing part.
First, this is a high-quality fan. I did have a Hampton Bay before and the internal transceiver died. Hampton Bay didn't have a replacement part, so scrap one fan. I was looking for an upgrade and this Xerces model is what I chose. The Pros. It's whisper quiet, easy to install, and has a nice finish to it. The remote takes some getting used to but it's compact and 1/4 the size of my old fan remote. The transceiver is also a separate unit and can be replaced without taking the fan down, which means a failure-prone area of these newer ceiling fans is avoided and I can just order up the parts to fix it. The light is fully dimmable The Cons. I had a missing part, the piece that goes down over the mounting pole to the top of the fan. The fan puts out about 75% on high that my old Hampton Bay did. I also have fiddled with the balance at high speed but I still have a little oscillation in it. That means I'll have to get some small weights to get it to be dead still. It's not a big oscillation may be less than 1/4 inch? Overall I'm happy with it and it was a good value for the money.

Misleading Pictures, but Quality Fan
I really like this fan, excellent remote and very quiet but the pictures are misleading. The pictures are for model 50609-03, oil rubbed bronze, where as the fan I received was different with a much darker tone, almost black. Doing a quick search the listed model 50609-01 is a dark espresso finish, and as far as I can tell this was a limited edition finish or has been discontinued. I would have preferred the oil rubbed bronze finish, but I still like the fans. Amazon update your pictures!
