Nice bag, handles are disappointing
I love the bag part - wonderful and sturdy. The handles are cheaply made and I feel like they are going to rip off the bag at any moment.

I like this bag so much more after using it
Solo New York makes a variety of bags for the 'urban' set. I don't see this particular bag on their website, which is confusing, but with some makers, what shows up on Amazon is older stock. (Or newer stock. Who knows?!) I like this bag so much more after I actually used it. When it arrived, it looked like such a plain square bag. And it is. But it sort of has more life to it when it's carrying stuff. Obviously, it doesn't call attention to itself, but it subtly does with its simple shape, interesting twill fabric, and contrast handles and zippers. It is subtly striking. Sturdy and well made, it holds my now ancient 15" MacBook Pro (pre USB-C) and papers. It does not have a laptop pocket, which I thought it might, since they mentioned laptops. Oh! Let me correct that! My laptop fits in the padded side pocket vertically! I haven't had a bag before that held my large laptop sideways like that. I think the lining is nylon twill. Pockets: Inside padded pocket (not full width, but does hold my big 15" MBP vertically), and on the other inside, a row of pockets about 5 inches deep: a mesh pocket, a nylon pocket, and a couple of pen sleeves. There is also a key fob on the inside. Outside, there is a 13.5" zipper pocket (not big enough for my MBP, but would hold a smaller laptop, like an Air, or papers), and a vertical-zipper pocket that's about 6" at the opening and 8" across. On the other exterior side, the pass-through pocket has a zipper top and bottom, with zippers that are about 12 inches across. (Maybe a little dicey to store things in this as a pocket, but probably okay for larger things. The zipper seems secure.) Pros: 1. subtly striking 2. sturdy and well made 3. made with recycled bottles 4. 5-year limited warranty Cons: 1. I dislike the white brand tag on the outside, which does not blend with the gray. (It should totally be gray.) FYI: Made in China.

Nice Tote, Better Message
This is a good looking tote bag. Let's get that out of the way. It's simple, modern, elegant. It doesn't have ruffles or fancy prints inside or out. It's utilitarian. What you're really getting (or giving) with this bag is the message: that of anti-single-use plastic. Supposedly, this company has found a way to reuse 10 plastic bottles per bag. The company also promises to plant a tree for every bag sold. I have no way to verify that claim, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. I did try to look that up, BTW, and only found items associated with Solo cups or some soil organization that's not affiliated with this type of product. So. You can probably get a better bag with more features cheaper, but this message is very much on trend. I also do like the flap that can fit over a suitcase handle if you're traveling.

Great for travel and helps the trees
The SOLO Tote Bag Is a good use of recycled products. The bag is made from recycled bottles. The bag is large and holds a lot of items. It has a good zipper that operates easily. The best thing about this bag is how it will fit securely on a carryon for very easy travel. This is great because the bag won’t fall off if you are running to catch a plane. I’d give it 5 stars but the material feels rough. This is a basic bag that is eco friendly. With every recycled bag sold, the manufacturer plants a tree to help restore U. S. National forests. Nice bag for travel
This is a pretty great size for a travel tote. Fits well on my luggage, the holder is wide enough that my bag doesn't continuously fall off my roller bag. You can fit pretty much every thing in here with ease. The bag is nice to look at and had a bit of sophistication to it. I have received several complements on it when traveling recently. For me I like that this hold my files, laptop and tablet PLUS I even put my small purse in it once so I wouldn't have to many carry on items. To me this is more of a business bag then an every day bag But that doesn't mean you can use it whenever.

Love this! Simple and elegant, but useful. Love the recycling aspect
This is a great over the shoulder tote bag. It's fairly large and holds a lot, but isn't too bulky--it stays sleek and modern looking. It has a laptop pocket, though I never really carry my laptop in it (I usually stick my tablet in there and the pocket is much too big for the little tablet. It also has a key ring clip so you don't lose your keys in the bag (it is quite deep) plus two smaller interior side pockets, ideally for phones and maybe a wallet, depending how big your wallet is. The outside of the bag has on full length horizontal zip pocket on the back and a horizontal and a vertical zip pocket on the front. The bag is made with a classic gray canvas-like material made from plastic bottles. It is very sturdy, but also classic looking. The tags, strings and stuffing in the bag are also made from recycled plastic bottles, which is great. I'm always excited to find a product that uses something destined for the landfill. According to the product's official site, each of this particular style of bag uses 5 plastic water bottles to make. That's not a ton, considering how many plastic bottles are littering our landfills and oceans, but it's a start. I've started using this as my daily work bag and I just love it. It is well made and holds up to daily wear and tear without issue. The stitching is top notch as well. My one wish is that it had a cross body strap option. I prefer that if I'm walking any distance. Apart from that, though, no complaints. This bag is awesome and reasonably priced. Get it!
