Almost perfect

Light, strong, seals well, insulates well. It's great at everything it's supposed to do. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a 5th star is the white drinking cup inside the cap. If it were black, this wouldn't matter. But what happens is that coffee splatters cover the cup, and since it's white, the splatters become splotches and it takes on the look of a gas station toilet bowl. Unless you want to wipe it every single time you drink from it, you're going to have this problem. It doesn't affect the flavor or anything else--I just find it off-putting when I'm drinking coffee. Change it from white to black (the rest of the cap is black) and the problem would be gone.

Best version yet

I like the spout - they finally solved the clogging problem that caused the liquid inside to dispense irregularly (the air hole would plug up with liquid in past iterations, and I was constantly blowing air into it to clear it and release the vacuum). Keeps hot things hot for many hours, as Thermos is known for, which is why I keep buying them.

smaller outer dimensions than old flip top

The capacity is as stated - 16 oz. The outer dimensions are smaller than the old version of this Thermos. Hot liquids poured in the morning are warm yet, but not hot, in the afternoon. I like fact that the lid components come apart for cleaning. I do not like that the fully opened lid hits my nose unless I am conscious of how I am taking a drink - sometimes resulting in a little spill. I think this is part of the overall smaller dimensions.

Lid and opening too small

We had an earlier model of this cup and loved it for 7 years until the lid broke. This newer model has some serious design flaws. * Before you've even had a sip of coffee or tea, the opening at the top is way too small to comfortably add a tablespoon of sugar without spilling it you . You also have to stuff your teabags in and be very careful removing them so the strings don't pull away from the bag. * The lid is so small that it hits my face in 3 places. (see photo). Bottom line - HORRIBLE design.
