Great artist's reference
I got these to use as reference shapes for practicing still life and perspective drawings. They're all a good size to be able to get up a small still life scene on my desk. All of the pieces have smooth surfaces, so I'm not worried about a random splinter. The wood is nice and hard, so I imagine I'll be able to keep these for quite a long time.

Great learning tool!
As a homeschooling family I am always looking for manipulatives that can better help my kids grasp concepts and solidify information. We (my kids and myself) had been having trouble remembering the names of certain geometric shapes so I set about to find something to help. These fit the bill. I tend to gravitate toward Montessori style materials, but because they can be on the pricey side it's great when I can find a more affordable alternative. I made some 3-part cards (flash cards) to be used alongside the solids. I'd probably lean more towards 4 1/2 stars. -As others have stated it would have been nice to have a 'cheat sheet' included in the bucket listing the proper names of each shape. I was able to find a list in the description on the actual Learning Resources website, and it was easy to figure out which was which from that, but of course it took a bit more time. (as a side- on the list LR gives, they list one of the prisms as an obtuse triangular prism. while I didn't measure it, visually it resembles more of a right triangular prism) -The wood seems a bit fragile. If the kids aren't careful with them the corners and points seem like they would chip off easily. As others have noted, some of the shapes do have pointed edges/corners- in my opinion that should be expected based on the shape. For example, I would expect that a pyramid has pointed vertices (corners). They are listed for ages 6+ and are age appropriate.

Good 3-D models for first grader’s virtual learning
Worked well for my son’s FIRST GRADE section on 3-D shapes. We’re doing virtual school by choice and the teacher sent us a document of shapes to print/tape together but they didn’t assemble well. Was nice for him to have the physical model in his hand to understand better. He only needed to learn about 8 of them this year but I’ll save for future use (and whenever the two sliced up cones come into play ha since we had to Google to find out what they’re even called!). A names sheet would have been nice inside the lid or label but we found something suitable online that listed all the angles/edges/faces info he needed anyway.

Picture perfect and nice texture
I received it today. They look as perfect as the photo depicts. Only time and child play will show the durability and sturdiness. I'm not entirely convinced they should be priced as high as they are (around $30 at time of purchase), but they appear to be of really good quality. If the shapes last through several stages of education, it will have been worth it. The texture feel like real wood, so I assume a child's senses can also pick up on that. I look forward to keeping them around until the children are in geometry.

No reply to my message to seller
The blocks themselves are fine. But there is no printed key to the names of the shapes. My email to the seller asking for this info got no reply. So I would give the seller no stars.

A tad on the expensive side but large and sturdy and perfect for geometry lessons.
My kiddo is exploring 1st grade geometry, shapes, sides, edges, points, etc. and he is a visual kiddo. He was having issues with grasping these concepts by looking at images on a tablet so I ordered these for him to hold and count sides, edges, etc. These are really nice to have as aids for visualization and helped him with his tablet assignments.

Fantastic for Learning Shapes and For Drawing!
We use these awesome wooden shapes to teach solid shapes in our homeschooling class as well as using them for our drawing classes to teach 3D methods with graduated shading. Perfect size in a nice container. Great wood, smoothly sanded and nice grain. Recommended for any classroom!

Great for the Price
I read some of the reviews saying they were small and unfinished and I like to say they are child-sized and natural !! LOL If your into montessori I thought this was a great set to discuss 3-d with my 20 month old daughter. Sure there are better sets and yeah check he price tag $80 Whew !! I Like those sets cause they come with cards and things and they may be a little more finished but if your not opposed to creating your own cards and adding a little beeswax polish Well I think they are a great little set ^_^ !! Soo I almost said 4 stars but honestly for the Price point of $20 for 19 shapes I'm pretty happy and my daughter takes them out and plays with them often Soo Fun times and Sure we will get plenty of use out of them

Decent quality; some sides may not be smooth
Arrived on time and in good condition. One of the shapes was not sanded properly and a couple of sides were rough and had some tiny splinters. Not so good considering my eight-year-old will be using it for math to understand the various types of solids. I am okay with it and expected this based on other reviews. I will sand it until it is smooth and should be okay. It is plain natural wood (or so I hope), so no chemicals and no plastic. For the price, it was worth it and I would buy it again.

Solid, Simple, Sleek and Tactile!
These 3D wooden geometric shapes are wonderful to hold, to engage with, to look at and to display. Sleek and elegant, practical and essential for exploring Shapes in Maths they are the perfect addition to your range of Maths equipment/classroom stock. As a home-educating family they have been invaluable, loved, used and enjoyed by all children ranging from ages 6-11. A definite success!

Most of them are nice and smooth
These geometric solids are very tactile, and are really interesting to work with. I purchased my set for art work, and have painted them white with acrylic paint. Most of them are nice and smooth, but a few did have splinters on them, so it would be worth checking them all before allowing a child to use them, any issues and they can be lightly sanded. They come in a handy tub for storage. A list of shape names wasn't included on the box, but there was a list on the Amazon description, so I had to use this and look them up, which helped me to learn some new information!

Sturdy shapes
I use these in my nursery and the children loved holding the shapes. Only thing that I would suggest is to include a list of the shapes names. You will know most of them but, some I had to look up on the internet.
