NO SEAL??? BUT Yay! Not sweet toothpaste--
I liked the clear saltiness with the barest hint of mint that left my teeth feeling polished. I think it's expensive, but everything Weleda is. I am so happy to find a toothpaste that's not gooey sweet and makes my teeth feel clean. I am very surprised this is not safety sealed under the cap. It was in a box. But the packers at amazon did their best to not protect the box so it was smashed up. Luckily the toothpaste was completely in tact and for sure a new tube. I just wish there was a safety seal on it because I can only find this online.

It works
It took forever to find a minimal type toothpaste, my body needs a break from all the chemicals and the mouth is super absorbent.

A different type of dentifrice
Neutral to slightly salty taste and works well with the sonic toothbrush. Have been using for years.

A Toothpaste for the pain
Oho & Behold the miracle toothpaste for souring paining gums and painful teeths, this is the ULTIMATE problem solver if you don't want to visit your dentist and save some grands for your retirement funds.......BUY THIS TOOTHPASTE NOW, till stocks lasts. If I have $10,000 credits I will buy the whole production of these guys who make this wonderful stuff. What an amazing 5 star results, either this is a gift from God, or it is by chance the formula of this toothpaste came out to be ultra powerful. By the way those guys who are looking for foamy and creamy fluoride or minty tastes, please don't look for this toothpaste. This is The sacred Holy grail toothpaste, whom only those can appreciate whose tooths or teeths (my englias very poor) are souring painful and they are about to get root canal or demolish or eliminate the tooth or on a urgent kind of situation. Not only so, if I say for emergency, I would be blatantly a liar, because I found that after solving my gum and tooth pains, this slimy salty and runny paste went on to clean all of my teeths, which I could never before by using any organic or toxic pastes. I have tried folks many things, I am from India and I went to every Ayurvedic clinic and Vicco pastes, did salt water gargles like 4 times a day and YES, this is all good, I don't say that my tooth came out. All I am saying that with all of the organic Nanny stories and household kitchen stuff that we try to prevent ourselves for loosing our million dollar tooth, it just could barely prolong my timing of not visiting dentist. At one point, I was so desperate that I brushed with YL Thieves paste 4 times and gargled after few mins of brushing and this was all good which kept me going & smiling and eating on one side.......you know what I am saying. But with this Made in Germany Weleda, aha, aha, thank God for the scientist and more thankful for the guys (or gals) who mixed ingredients and made this into perfect outcome, that at first I had to brush 4 times (after every meal or even after tea / coffee / cold drinks) a day and must before bedtime and early mornings. Use a soft brush (buy new) and throw the brush every 2 months, this I did not understand why doctors advised to throw every month (I thought they are getting paid by toothbrush companies) but thank God that now I do, and I apologise for my wrong thinking. In India, there are many people who use the Bark of tree, I don't have English name but it is called Datun, and this is little bitter in taste but works wonders for teeth or tooths, the problem is, if anyone want to start using this stuff, they have to have healthy teeth to start with, otherwise it's going to pain like hell, if you already have painful teeth. Why am I saying this, because I tried this too and all the dental manjans (easily available in India) and abroad, and I definitely don't want to discount this 1000 year old time tested stuff, folks it's all good and as long as you keep dental hygiene under control. I wish I would have listened to my Mom or Dad or Nanny from childhood days and did take care of my teeth since, but for many of us it's just too late waking up. In anycase I salute this wonderful toothpaste and would recommend for anyone who is looking to get healthy teeths. I have one recommendation too here, as I have many good friends who happens to be dentists, they tell me to change the toothpastes every month or so, or keep rotating 5-6 types of toothpastes and not continue the same over and over, the reason, bacteria in our teeths get used to it and then the fight stops (and decay starts), so I would ask the good company (made in Germany) to think in this line and come up with 5-6 different combinations so that we keep using Mr. Weleda for ever and ever........thank you all for reading this and hope it helps because it certainly helped me.

Awesome Deep Clean!!????????????
A Great exfoliating toothpaste for a good deep clean!???????? It's natural, and gently abrasive, therefore, not to be compared with typical supermarket toothpastes. The flavors and textures of these Weleda toothpastes differ from all other toothpastes. Please do not expect them to foam as typical toothpastes either. Most people are trained by the mainstream, commercially produced, supermarket brand products to believe that all toothpastes should produce a sudsy foamy action and minty taste in order to clean and freshen property which is simply not true. Though a foamy sudsy feeling is nice, it's not necessary. There are many benefits of using a non-mint toothpaste as well as mint can hinder some treatments or interfere with certain health regimes such as homeopathic care (research it), and other people simply desire a mint free product. The taste is not super delicious but that doesn't really matter as to me, it's purpose is cleaning, exfoliation, and healing. Many healthy regimes are Not super yummy though that doesn't stop us from using or consuming materials and striving for better health.. does it? Nope. It's not like we're eating this toothpaste, we're just using it for two minutes while brushing.???????? That being said, I really don't think the flavor is bad at all and totally am fine with it. It's a cleanser folks???? Also, this is not Tom's brand either so people should not compare because Weleda toothpastes are in a class of their own. I have used Weleda toothpastes for years along with traditional typical big brand toothpastes. I switch and swap from morning and evening brushings throughout the week as well as swapping from month to month. The 3 Weleda toothpastes I use regularly along with my typical brands are this Salt, Calendula and Ratahnia. They all provide different benefits. The Salt paste is a great deep cleaner and has a gritty salt like combined with a gel texture. It is non-foaming but none of the Weleda pastes expand in volume when in mouth like the typical foaming pastes do but that is not a concern because foaming volume is not necessary for cleaning, it's just something one must become accustomed to and retrain their way of thinking about a toothpaste and cleaning of teeth. To help clear up any concerns regarding it being too abrasive or cutting gums: First of all, Let the salt do it's own job of exfoliating and smoothing the surface of your teeth, do Not push too firmly or use force with too much pressure as it will be too much exfoliating, use a light touch. Also, salt is known for healing properties and used to help heal wonds as is some old remedies of gargling with salt for sore, raw throats, soaking in salt baths for sore muscles and etc. For a better clean, I recommend not running it under water first as it will dilute the gel too much. Just put it on your brush and start brushing, lightly smearing all over teeth quickly first to evenly distribute and then gently brush each tooth as normal. My opinion is no water needed or recommended as it will naturally dilute with the natural juices of your mouth (you know what I'm referring to????). If need more, use more, as much as you desire. I like using this Salt paste in the evenings to remove all of the days grime and sometimes I use this followed by another toothpaste afterwards before going out. This review is also to address issues that some of the critical reviews have stated and to help clear up any confusion. I just wanted to give everyone the real scoop on this product. I really like this Weleda Salt toothpaste and will continually purchase it and use it along with the other Weleda pastes while swapping out and in conjunction with other brands once in awhile as well, in the years to come as I've done in the past. I recommend trying this product... it's only one tube of toothpaste ???????? Hope this all has been informative and helpful.????

This is awesome!
I am really digging this toothpaste. There’s a fine grit to it with the salt, I feel it cleans my teeth nicely, I have a fresh mouth using this.

Yuck
I’ve heard nothing but good things about this brand, but this toothpaste is terrible tasting. I know it says salt, but the flavor is peppermint. However there is no peppermint flavor it’s pure salt. Definitely going to be hard to use it all so I don’t waste my money.

Excellent toothpaste
I’ve been buying this toothpaste for years now after hearing about all the detrimental effects to health that fluoride causes. Also I was getting an unusual amount of mouth ulcers and stopping fluoride toothpaste also stopped the mouth ulcers. My daughter now 10 has also been using this the last few years since stopping her child toothpaste and we both love the taste of this and it feels so fresh and cleansing. Not everyone will like the adjustment as may be used to a foamy sensation but once you get used to this you won’t go back and I personally love that salty taste. Feels more natural and cleansing. I used to buy in Holland and Barrett but unable to now so I reorder when we’re low. Which is about after 2 ish months. Give or take.

Salty flavour as expected, seems to clean as efficiently as any other toothpaste.
In my grand-parents day, there were a limited number of branded toothpastes and tooth-powders available, and some dentists recommended brushing with salt. I the early 80s I was living and working in Indonesia, and I was seeing quite a bit of bleeding from my gums. I found a Japanese brand of toothpaste that was made with salt, in a local supermarket. It seemed to help my condition and was pleasant to use. It had a similar consistency to regular white toothpaste brands but had a strong salty taste. I was also gargling and rinsing with salt water, so that did not bother me. Recently I decided to try to find a salt-based toothpaste again, and found this one on Amazon. It is reasonably salty (although not as salty as I remember the Japanese on to be), and has a somewhat minty after-taste. I do not put salt on my food or add it to cooking, and I generally avoid obviously salty foods. I was surprised that this toothpaste did not taste more salty to me. It has a grainy texture - whether that is due to actual grains of salt or the general texture I do not know. It leaves my teeth feeling as clean as any other toothpaste that I have used (although of course the most important aspect of cleaning teeth is the brushing technique and thoroughness, rather than the toothpaste used). There is a definite minty after-taste (I do not rinse my mouth with water after brushing with any toothpaste, this one included). Warning: this is described as "Salt Toothpaste", rather than simply having salt listed in the ingredients, and so expect it to taste predominantly of salt (although not as salty as putting neat salt onto your toothbrush, and there are other flavourings but they do not offset the salt noticeably). If you do not like strong saltiness I would suggest to avoid this toothpaste.

Best toothpaste ever!
Do yourself a favor, and try this toothpaste. I’m a convert! Been using for 2+ years now, and I can’t go back. Dentist always says I do an excellent job of keeping my teeth clean and asks what toothpaste I use. They are always dumbfounded when I tell them! No flouride! No crazy chemicals or nasty ingredients. Takes a little getting used to, but it is so worth it. I can’t even use the nasty foamy stuff anymore. Who wants surfactant in their mouth? Ewww... anyway, just try it!

So far so good
Wasn't too sure about this at all the whole idea of salt toothpaste didn't really appeal to me at all but I do like Weleda products and never really found fault with them so thought I would give this a go. First of all the taste is like regular mint toothpaste the only thing you really notice is the "salt" which is a grit in the toothpaste but like arm and hammer but feels a lot more coarse. I have been using this for a few weeks now and I have to say the first few times I used it I found it to be a bit rough but now got used to it. Seems to bee good on my teeth and gums so I will keep on using at least for a few months to see any long term results.

Eco, just right amount of saltiness, good quantity, nice peppermint.
I was nervous about this being too salty. It certainly is salty but doesn't cause gagging and has a strong peppermint flavour too, which helps. My husband makes his own tooth powder and I find that far too salty. This is a happy medium for me - good for my teeth and gums, balances pH in my mouth, and palatable. It is a metal tube, which seems to be holding up fine at the moment (no holes) and I like the aesthetic and reduced plastic used (cap is still plastic). I was worried about it being too expensive, but I think you get what you pay for and this is a quality product. Also, I use less of it on each brushing as you don't need as much as usual toothpaste. So it is worth it.
