Svěrák na trubky a stolní svěrák řady Yost Vises Apprentice má základnu otočnou o 360 stupňů a lze jej připevnit k pracovnímu stolu, aby zajistil upínání pro nenáročné aplikace. Otočná základna o 360 stupňů s (2) aretacemi nastavuje směr čelistí pro správné umístění. Ručním utažením pojistného knoflíku na základně zajistíte jeho polohu. Svěrák má litinové tělo s ocelovou U-lištou pro dlouhou životnost a má plochou část, která funguje jako kovadlina a další pracovní plocha. Horní čelisti z tvrzené oceli lze při opotřebení vyměnit a vestavěné čelisti na litinové trubky jsou drážkované pro lepší uchopení. Čelisti se přibližují nebo oddalují otáčením rukojeti svěráku ve směru nebo proti směru hodinových ručiček.

Shipped as advertised. Will last for years. The plastic pieces to fit on the jaws was not in my box.

I love this vise. I got the 5.5" one as an upgrade from my previous one which was often too small, or would slip on my workbench. My previous one was the kind that tightens itself on the the workbench but doesn't bolt in. The Yost 455 is the perfect size for my projects and allows me to bolt it down so it's easy to use. Let me share the bolts, washers, and locking nuts you will want to use for mounting this. There is some conflicting information in the Q&A and reviews. If you have a workbench where you can drill through the top, I can say definitively that the best way to mount it is use the base as a template and mark where the holes are in the base. Then use a 1/2" drill bit to drill holes through the tabletop. I used the following hardware which should work for anyone. You'll just need to adjust the bolt length for the width of your tabletop. Bolts: 1/2 in.-13 x 2-1/2 in. Hex Bolt (2.5" was the right length for my tabletop, you made need shorter or longer) Washers: 1/2 in flat washers with a 1 in outer diameter (OD) (1/2" inner diameter) Locking nuts: 1/2 in.-13 Nylon Lock Nut All the mounting hardware set me back about $11 at the local orange colored hardware store. It would have been nice if the hardware was included, but the vise itself is a great value regardless.

Good Value

I bought this blue Yost 455 Vise about 1 year ago and I am very happy with it. Most of my work is light duty, so I mounted it on a wooden work bench with a 2 x4 frame. For my light duty needs, I used 1/2" hex bolts to minimize 2 x 4 wall thickness loss. I then bought the RUITOOL brand blue colored 5.5" Vise Jaws Nylon Vise Block with Magnetic Soft Jaws, and I'm very happy with these soft jaws too. The Yost 455 and these soft jaws are an excellent match for my bench needs. If using a 2 x 4 frame for vise fastening, think about using a drill press or portable drill guide so that the drilled holes are straight. .

Vise has all the features of a bench vise.

Fit and function are good, it only weighs about 35 lbs, which means for a 5.5” vise its a bit light. Weight equates to sturdyness when looking at vises. It will work well for my needs.

Poor QC

I tried buying a vise local first at Harbor Freight (HF), but returned due to poor casting and I wasn’t impressed by Home Depot’s offerings. I ordered the Yost 455 after a lot of research. Out of the box, this thing is not the best quality. The jaws do not line up and there is a lot of slop when the jaw is open. It also came with a nick in the metal from the manufacturer. Like the 5” “Central Forge” HF vise, this one is made in China, but at least the jaws lined up with no slop on the HF and it was only $60 compared to $85. Still this one is better in comparison and a decent value. I just wish they still made quality items in the US at a reasonable price because nothing I have bought from China has been what I would describe as 5 star quality.

Great value!

I swore off buying any more garbage from harbor freight and figured that meant paying a lot of money for items like this. Yost company is from MI, USA. I couldn't figure out for sure where this is made but I don't care because I installed and used it today and am extremely happy with it. Build quality, fit and finish look great. Super value.

Awesome tool

This seems to be of great quality for the price. Others I searched for were either too expensive or looked to be of cheap quality. Shown is a picture of it bolted to my workbench. For it's size it can open fairly large and the pipe jaw area is very handy to have as well. Also love the rubber gromets permanently attached to the handle. Rotating function is very useful and locks securely into position.

Great For Light Duty Home Use

Great for light to medium duty. Have this in my garage on a makeshift work bench I made out of an old table that was going to be thrown out. Bolted to table fairly easy with 4 carriage bolts, nuts and washers. Jaws open and close smoothly and hold whatever I am working on very well.

A Nice Vice for a Good Price

My son wanted a vice for Christmas. I did some research and aside from the expensive Record vises, the Yost provides good features and performance at an affordable price. He's really happy with it.
