Best knee pads ever.

Protects your knees real well. I can teeter on 2 by 4's in an attick. Strong plastic and comfortable. Good price too.

This is knee protection!

These are great knee pads. I have tried a variety of knee pads, from pathetic to great supporting ones. This is clearly one of the best supporting knee pads I've owned. I am not a professional, but a DYIer who does lots of house renovations and floor-related activities. Although I have also used them in gardening activities. I tore a meniscus (cartilage pad) in my knee about 35 years ago. I was told I would likely get early arthritis, potential problems in the future including potential locking knees from torn and drifting pieces of cartilage. Well, none of that has happened. I ha e been careful about getting onto my knees and do so cautiously, almost always using a towel or something to keep the knee protected from a hard surface. I have never had issues over the years. I am a runner (now over 70) who does 15-20 miles a week more or less continually over the past decade (swimming before that). I m pretty lucky. Now back to the knee pads. When I put on the DeWalts, it like I'm not even on the floor. My knee feel totally supported, yet I'm scurrying about. I used different pad when I was doing hardwood floors, but now I am doing a bunch of ceramic tiling. These are a blessing. Sometimes when I am doing a standing-kneeling mix, I wear just one pad and that allows me to be a bit more agile. So why only 4 stars? I cannot find the perfect fitting tightness on the straps. Both the velcro and the locking straps are easy to connect, but it seems I cannot find the ideal tightness for the standing-kneeling activities. The pads slowly creep down or are uncomfortable on my legs. Make them tighter so no slippage, and I feel I am cutting off my circulation. It almost like it would be better if the distance between the two straps were greater (greater separation from the thigh strap from the lower leg strap, then slippage would be less affected by the kneeling-standing process. Or, I am just not able to find the ideal placement. Maybe I should read the instructions more carefully for hints. I don't know. You would think since I've owned them for more than a year that I would figure them out. However, if your number one priority is protecting the knee, you "kneed" these pads. Bad pun. Iam very happy with them (and I still rotate my other pads for when I want something easy and light vs. extended protection.

Great knee pads for those do-it-yourselfers

The media could not be loaded. I've been using these for 4 years now for mostly gardening. The padding and front plastic shield are excellent. These areas have held up very well. Unfortunately, the bottom elastic velcro straps that holds the knee pads in place on the legs have worn out so now they fall off constantly and have to be re-adjusted. The top strap clicks in but the strap has worn out too. For heavy or construction use these probably wont last that long. For the home light user these are fine and you should get many years out of them. Knee pads get lots of abuse so they will not last forever. They are still the best knee pads I have tried but I do think I need to invest in another pair of these. I will buy these again because they do what I need them to do, fit well, and I like them. Pros: Very comfortable knee pads Very protective Fit well Great for most home do-it-yourselfers Cons: Bottom velcro wears out (at about 4 years for me) Top click strap wears out (at about 4 years for me) After a few years they don't stay in place so may require readjustments Average lifespan

Very Good Knee Pads

I am an older guy with bad knees. One knee joint has already been replaced, and the incisions remain somewhat sensitive due to nerves that were cut during surgery. I bought these two years ago to be able to work from a kneeling position or crawling around on the floor. I wear them almost every week, and some weeks almost every day, so they have had a lot of use in two years. Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. The padding is excellent, and allows me to work on my knees with no pain. The padding today is just like it was when I bought them two years ago. The build quality of these knee pads is very good. Nothing has broken or degraded to date. I notice that they do tend to move around on my knees as I work, and have to be periodically repositioned back where they belong. That's not a big deal, and may be an issue for most knee pads. Also, the top strap does not stay tensioned where I set it, and the elastic band pulls back through the buckle to the end of its travel. That may well be a contributor to the movement of the pads. Update Oct. 2018: I've had these for three years now, and I have used them a few times per week over that time period. Still no signs of wear or degradation. Padding is still same as the first day I used them.
