Gummy

It’s thick! Like putting a melted crayon in your hair. I thought it would be more of a chalk consistency. The glittery gels are great! They apply like mascara!

Doesn't last long

It's not horrible but does clump pretty bad... and by the end of the day had gone out of her hair without even washing it yet... it's fine to play with at home but wouldn't buy it for all day use because it wont last and it will clump

Fun for five year olds but it's a very subtle effect.

So this has been kind of a mixed bag for us. I have children with medium brown hair and I have blonde hair. The darker the hair, obviously the harder it is to see. You put both the glitter, which comes in a mascara container with wand and the chalk on dry hair. The glitter is subtle and the instructions tell you to rotate the brush as you apply the glitter. You absolutely have to do this along with sticking the wand back in about 100 times. It does leave some glitter on the hair but It was a little bit disappointing to my 5-year-olds as they thought they were going to be glittered out. The chalk states that in order to get enough on you should put a piece of paper behind the hair that you were trying to color to pressed down more and get better coverage. The pink is the one they were the most interested in and I got decent results although again, on brown hair it's not super noticeable. The yellow was kind of worthless as that was the least effective. After you're done it comes with a comb to help brush and make your hair not caked and I suggest you use this and not your own. The glitter and color does come off on it while you're brushing it out. It's fun for an afternoon and I don't mind if my kids wear it out. Overall, this will be fun to play with over the summer and it washes out pretty easily although, getting glitter out of their scalp is a little different story.

Fun that may stick around a few days

This hair chalk set has some big pluses and one big minus. The GOOD stuff: *It is super easy to use. The hair chalks are designed like markers rather than some of the other hair chalks that are in a ball shape and fall apart easily. *It is not messy. You simply place a paper towel under the hair and swipe the marker through the hair. *It showed very brightly in my kid’s hair. However, the color will obviously change depending on your hair color. For example, my son has blonde hair and the yellow looked green. My daughter has brown hair and the orange looked pink. *The hair glitter wands are genius. What a quick and easy way to add some sparkle! Now for the big MINUS: *It has taken several shampoos for me to get the blue out of my son’s blonde hair. We don’t mind, but it advertises that it “easily washes off” and that has not been the case for us. Overall, this set is a fun way to introduce vibrant hair colors to your kids, but you might not want to do it the day before school pictures.

Fun for kids.

This is the first time I’ve used hair chalk so I wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s pretty messy. I was impressed with how well it shows up on red hair. The chalk glides into straight hair pretty well but it’s difficult to do on curly hair. It’s fun to use and the kids loved it - maybe a little too much - it does rub off onto bedding if too much is applied! The glitter didn’t work very good but did add some shine every now and then when it did. Be sure to use this in an air conditioned area. The chalk gets warm when it’s in the sun and starts to flake off in big chunks. There is a lot of chalk per tube as it does wind up like lipstick.

Fun for Kids

We tried this product on a night when my nieces and nephews were over to play with my boys. These kids are all light brown to blond hair. The longer hair was easier to work with because you could better hold sections and "color" the hair with the chalk and glitter wand. We knew from previous experience with hair chalks that very clean, dry hairs works better than hair that is a little oily. This was definitely true for us with these chalks. Overall, the kids loved it and the chalk and glitter washed out easily the next day. The price point seems a little high for what it is ($17.99 today). I always like the Alex brand though so I'd choose it over a cheaper hair chalk that I wasn't sure about. Recommended.

Dress up and imaginative fun

This kid of hair decorative products for children is grade fun. He had ingredient quality is totally adequate and they're easy to use. it's a great way for the kids to have some fun and try out different styles in a way that still all washes out in the shower later when the time for something else comes up. Quality ingredients and an easy to use kit.
