This is a lightweight product but does exactly what it is supposed to do. I do light skimming on my pond as well as catch fish.

Cheap and effective.

I spent months being cheap and trying to clean the small fish pond in my new house with a kitchen strainer (I know, I know). It would take hours, and never really did the job. Finally bought this thing, and it's great! Long reach, adjustable length, and the big mesh basket catches all the leaves in the pond while also being fine enough to skim a good deal of the smaller particulate matter. I can skim out my approximately 500 gallon pond in just a few minutes. My only regret is not buying this months ago.

Light duty only

Good for loose leaves only, if you have heavy winter pond sludge or compacted debris, it will bend.

The skimmer net frame bent and popped out during first use.

The first time I used this skimmer, I was skimming the pond for leaves and debris. There were a few leaves in the bag and I lowered it into the water to pick up a couple that was near the bottom. As I lifted the bag, the pressure of the water caused the frame to bend and pop. The cap that supposedly holds the frame is plastic. The description of the item states, "Used For Catching Fish And General Maintenance". If a few leaves and lifting the bag through water popped the frame, I don't see how it could hold a fish without popping it. FYI: I added the clear plastic tubing around the frame to protect it from snagging on the rocks.

Great solution for dog toy rescue

Perfect lightweight solution for retrieving sticks that our retriever constantly flings into the pool. The pool skimmer is just too heavy & awkward to drag out all the time. The skimmer is quite long but not heavy. Solved my problem perfectly. I got 2. One for each side. Huge pool. Stick obsessed pup.

Nice design, and it works well

The flat bottom is good for most ponds, which also have flat bottoms. The handle telescopes well. I’m not sure how secure it would be at maximum extension, but it works fine at about 3/4 extension.

Great for small ponds, our pond is roughly 8x12, 2 deep. Extender pole is useful.
