Grill is too small

I love the looks of this feeder and it is very sturdy. The birds peck at the perimeter of the feeder, until they can’t reach a sizable chunk in the center. That is because the grill is too small and the holder is that much too big. Only a few species of birds will peck from the bottom. I plan to put in a divider so all the food can be reached.

Not as described

The feeder does not match the dimensions as described it the listing and does not have the "bottom door with two closures". It seems they are describing a different model. In addition, it is too small to hold the average 2-lb "brick" style seed cake. The product description states that it will hold one brick or 4 square seed cakes. You CAN fit 4 square seed cakes in the cage but birds would only have access to the outside 2. Once they were gone, the other 2 seed cakes would fall over into a leaning position and the birds would not have access to them . One COULD put the seedcakes into the cage flat but then the birds would have to hang from the bottom of the cage to eat. All in all, a very disappointing product and useless for the job it was intended to do.

This is for a square block of suet! CAUTION!

When I ordered I wasn't sure what I was getting. When we got it we weren't sure if Regular size suet cakes would work. What we ended up doing was the hubby put a block of wood in each side so that it would hold the regular size suet cake in front. I am not sure how a square one would work for the birds. How would they get to the center part of the suet. Love it though, works good.

Best Suet Feeder with Smaller Holes

I bought a similar product many years ago, needed to replace it, and could not find it anywhere until I saw this on Amazon. It is a perfect feeder if you want to place items in it that require smaller holes. Plus it can hold multiple suet cakes at one time. It's easy to fill, and the roof overhead helps to protect the contents. Highly recommended.

4 suet block feeder

Being able to put multiple suet blocks in this feeder is wonderful. Saves time but I don't see this lasting any longer than all the other wire feeders. On the top of the metal roof, there are cracks on all 4 corners. I can see this rusting in a short period of time. Too bad since I think they had a great idea. There needed to be more time spent on the production of this feeder making it more heavy duty.

Birds had no trouble getting the suet!

This was my first suet feeder for birds who come into my yard. I put 3 suet blocks in it. Some birds were slow to check it out, but within 2 weeks birds were all over it! They also have a feeder with seed, but enjoyed both!
