Fit my obsolete shower fixture
The media could not be loaded. This fit my Sterling single handled faucet fixture in my shower. The original part is obsolete and not available in the big box stores. The only minor inconvenience is that the screw hole is not compatible with my handles original screw. I was able to just push the handle onto the square peg and the engagement appears to be tight enough to roll without the screw.

It worked fine to replace the old stiff sticking open Sterling single ...
It worked fine to replace the old stiff sticking open Sterling single control faucet cartridge in my toilet room sink downstairs. I noticed it was hard to remove the old cartridge, so put back on the plastic faucet knob and used that to pull and it popped out. Also the old cartridge didn't have the lower O ring. I tried to fit the new cartridge with the lower thinner O ring, but it wouldn't fit in. Removed that lower thinner O ring and it all went together just fine. There was a larger O ring separate in the kit box that wasn't present in the old faucet and I used that at the top of the cartridge between the chromed Faucet nut which worked out OK. Maybe no need to use this, but I think it helps apply pressure to the edge of the cartridge and this stops the large chrome nut pressing down on the center of the cartridge and stiffening the action. Works smoothly now and people can close it fully with ease now.

Untapped shallow hole for handle knob
Part installed easy, however, tried to screw knob screw in and found out screw hole was a shallow unthreaded hole. Made several trips to my shop to find suitable thread tap and short screw. Thread tap was a 10-24 and screw was approximately 1 inch long that I finally used. Didn’t want to drill hole deeper and weaken the stem. Was a nuisance because of the shallow untapped hole. This should be done before installation of the valve. Thx

Danco Cartridge for Sterling faucets
Could not find The Sterling Cartridge at any hardware store so we found it on Amazon bought it and when it arrived my husband installed it to our master bath tub and fixed the problem we were having with our faucet leaking .

Cheap replacement for a POS shower mixer valve, but it works.
So, the valve from Amazon is exactly what it should be, a replacement valve for a shower mixer. It does that well, hence the second star. What it shouldn't be, is available, so you're forced to replace the shower mixer assembly in whole. Whoever designed this mixer valve should be shot because sooner or later, it's going to fail, and it's going to be a mess. This time it was only some overhead drywall in our den because I caught it when it was only leaking a little bit (and only when the shower was running, so hard to detect). The time before (they seem to last just short of 3 years, so be forewarned), it was $1000's of work by contractors to dry out two rooms below the tub, we had water running down the windows in our den (12-15' away from where the tub faucet is), extensive water damage, replaced floors and ceilings in multiple rooms, all for a POS $18 valve that failed. If you find yourself needing one of these, be aware that your bathroom is hiding a time bomb, and sooner or later it's going to be very expensive to fix. These mixer valves should be illegal to use and outlawed. They're crap, you've been warned, they're going to fail eventually. I've decided to put mine on a two year replacement cycle so I never have to clean up the mess from one again.

Exactly as Described - Exact Replacement and Works Perfectly!
It's just a cheap piece of plastic, but it's an identical match to the one I needed to replace! I checked in several home repair stores, and a few local plumbing stores - the only store that could match my cartridge required at least a week to get it in stock and was more expensive! With a RAPIDLY leaking faucet, this was a true blessing! The cartridge fit perfectly and it's been in place now for a couple years with NO leaks! Definitely a lifesaver!
