Easy to Set Up, Does not Leak, Needs Additional Filter Media

To start off, I was sent the wrong item by the seller! But, they sent me the larger size filter for the same price, so why worry? :-) I set this up in no time, using both the filter media they provided, and some poly fill that makes a good "polish" filter for the water. In my opinion, the filter media that is provided is not enough to keep your pond clean. You need something even finer than that. But, with the extra tray, you can add additional filtering using any sort of poly-fill that is recommended for ponds and/or aquariums. The filter has been running for a few weeks now, and no leaks. Taking it apart to clean is also easy, as you can just snap out the hose connection part to remove the base for a thorough cleaning. My other pond filter is an external canister that has the hoses attached to the unit with clamps, so I cannot move it to really clean out algae. If I hose it down in place, I need to make sure that I don't let tap water flow through the return tube into my pond. With this product, that is not an issue. I also like the handles on each tray (three trays in this one, one for the re-usable, washable filter, one for a secondary filter, and one that holds all the bio-balls). I would recommend this one.
