Great Replacement For Old Version With Warn Down Plastic Piece

My original handle had a little white plastic piece inside of it that connected to the tub cartridge. Well, inevitably this little piece kind of got worn down by being in between two pieces of metal over the years. I looked everywhere for a replacement, and couldn't find anything. Apparently they noticed this design flaw and integrated a metal piece into the handle to take the place of the plastic piece. Fortunately, buying the new handle solved my problem and the tub works great again. Unfortunately, this shiny new piece sticks out like a sore thumb to my older hardware with patina, so I have to figure out how to shine it all up to make it look sparkly and new.
