Lifesavers in unexpected outages
We live in an area that gets our fair share of power outages and have always had some sort of backup lighting system in every room. All of them eventually wear out after years of use and need to be replaced. Personally, I don't pull these out of the socket to use as a flashlight because I have plenty of flashlights around the house to grab. These make it easier to actually find the real flashlights. They put out plenty of light to help you navigate your house during an outage. I was happy to find these with their sleek design and purchased enough to replace all no longer working ones throughout the house with one left over for the basement. Decent price for that item you don't know you need until you actually need it. On queue, these got road tested two days after they were installed so I got a chance to give a few stars for the features I actually know are good. They are bright enough to cast enough light for a fairly large room if they are not tucked behind something. So, open socket is the best, although 1 is sort of under a desk and still proved useful. They don't have a ground prong so can be plugged in facing up the wall or down to the floor which is useful in different situations like if you want to light up a pathway instead of a wall. I can't speak to battery life, but it's been my experience that if you leave these sorts of emergency lights plugged in and don't use them as flashlights, the life of the product is extended. As to how long they remain lit, I can't say because we have a whole house generator that gets fired up during outages so they aren't on long enough to judge that. I'm going to suggest you don't rely on these solely for lighting during an outage and have other ready to grab flashlights or candles instead if you don't have a generator. I would recommend these to anyone looking for emergency power outage lights.

Great price work for about 2 hours
These are just great might get some more. Unfortunately we do suffer from a lot of power outages here and these are always handy and you can easily find them if you leave them switched on as they come on automatically when the power goes out. Put these in mostly where guests would be as they would be less used to the house in the case of a complete power outage. Personally only had to use these a few times as I do have a automatic battery failover and a generator but sometimes they do not automatically fail over so these have been invaluable.

Great!
I feel like I got a great bargain with these. With storm season approaching, I wanted to get an emergency light for each of the two floors of my house plus the basement. You get three in this set, so that worked out perfectly. All you do is set the switch to "on" and plug them into the wall, and they will stay charged. When the power goes out, the light automatically comes on. I am really glad I found these because they fit my needs perfectly.

They work
The work as written and I have 3 in different rooms and within a day, I unplug one and immediately the flashlight came on. Then I plug one into an extension cord that had on off switch and I turned cord of and immediately the light came on. Everyone should get these

Works as Needed!
While there is no sensor for use as a nightlight, this does the job as far as a flashlight and power failure light. I haven't had to test how long it lasts upon power outage, but just leaving it unplugged I get at least four hours. The sliding power prongs are a little sticky, and somewhat flimsy, but once extended and without several uses, I think they will be ok. Value was great, and I like this product overall.

Exactly what I needed
The light turns on when the power goes out and does NOT act like a nightlight when the power is on. Perfect for the windowless bathroom in my bedroom. At least I’ll have some light if the power goes out when I’m in the shower.
