Exceeded my expectations
These brushes are not the highest quality, but at this price you shouldn't expect them to be. They are actually better than what I expected to get. I used them for staining some wood and paint touch up on walls. They work fine while only losing the occasional bristle. I DO mean occasional. I've used low cost brushes to paint walls in the past and it was like the dog was shedding on the wall I was picking so many bristles out of the paint. I really expected these brushes to be like that. Not so! These are not top quality brushes, but I feel their quality does exceed the low price I paid. For small jobs around the house I feel they certainly met my needs. I recommend these brushes.

Great single use brushes for a good price
These brushes go for less than $1.50 per brush, and they are much better than the cheap chip brushes you find at the hardware store. They're one use brushes - so great for oil based paints and stains, which is tough to clean with any brush. You can clean the brushes of course, but they really don't hold up well. If you want a real quality set of brushes to reuse over and over again, you'll need to spend at least $8 a brush (and that's on the low end).

Working well with paint and polyurethane on several surfaces. Easy to clean
These brushes are very soft and the variety of sizes is exactly what I needed. I'm renovating an old house and painting everything and a multitude of surfaces. I used the two inch brush today to paint wood beams on the ceiling and to cover up old wallpaper in the laundry room. The smallest brush was used for polyurethane over mahogany window trim pieces. Both performed well with little dripping and clean up was a breeze. I like the slightly wide handle on these also - easier to hold when you're standing on a scaffold reaching over head.

Definitely worth the price
Price was $5.99 for the Hiltex 00308 Brush Paint Stain Varnish Set with Wood Handles, 5-Piece, Small. I half expected most of the bristles to have fallen out before it got to my home for the price I paid. not only were these brushes better than chip brushes they preformed much better than expected.solid workmanship and great application for the project. I hardly give 5 stars for anything and if not for the cleanup of the brushes being a tad below what I expected they would have gotten them.

What can I say - cheap set of paint brushes ...
What can I say - cheap set of paint brushes designed to be used and disposed of when through. I haven't used any of them yet but I believe they should do the job of applying a coat of Rustoleum on an old rusty metal gate - Just think of the days when buying a paint brush was a major investment that would be treated as such in terms of cleaning and care. These were the days when the garage - or basement had the lingering smell of turpentine or some other hydrocarbon solvent used to clean these investments. Today, we would never think to keep these chemicals around on a casual basis unless, of course, you were a professional painter - then you would most likely have a special separate building where you kept your paint and supplies...

This set of paint brushes are good for the price. The set I purchased shut it a little before I even use them but again good for the price they did the job. Most likely won't buy them again though
