I’m Dominican and every household growing up had one of these. My husband and I just bought a house and I had to get one. I love them. I make everything in them chicken and rice, beans, fried plantains… and they do make a difference meaning everything I make cooks better especially rice dishes.

Im a college student originally from the city where buying pots like these would be easy access to buy in the store but living in the country it has change a lot. I’m happy I was able to order these pots and make traditional Dominican food!!

Be careful, you can easily Scrape/scratch yourself on the rim of the lid or caldero. It's not sanded down or anything so it's very sharp but other than that its good. And handles will get very hot

We make arroz con pollo and other Spanish dishes often but have been making it in the instant pot (blasphemy, I know, but it works) and missed having pagao. I finally caved and got my own set of calderos. My wife, who learned from my mom how to make Colombian food, immediately felt at home as she was used to cooking with calderos because my family uses them for everything. The big one is good for arroz con pollo, the middle one for beans, and the small one for making a small portion of rice when I want a different side than my wife or feeding myself. We coated them in safflower oil and baked them in the oven upside down for half an hour, let cool, and they've been nonstick so far.
