Reasonable price compared to others

This Pfister faucet is a very good option for a more inexpensive faucet. Faucets from most of the major brands have become very expensive and this one is still a bit more reasonable. The quality if good, I like the finish and the stream and spray modes are great. Installation takes a little time but each brand seems to have their quirks for installation.

Pfister Wray Single Handle Kitchen Sink Faucet with Pull Out Sprayer

A well-known brand name faucet company at a reasonable price. Good for a limited space kitchen faucet that provides a pull-out spray handle, or as I am using it, for a laundry room utility sink. The black finish complements any design area.

removal of old faucet was harder than the install of this new faucet, fun times. The quality of this matte finish is good. The functionality is great. The weight of the pull is a bit much, it has a really heavy weight pulling this line back into the housing. My parents are older and they remarked a bit considering the difference of the old faucet (a lighter pull but they had to reseat it much more than this new one, so there is a pro involved instead of just a con). Everything works fine and the button to change from full mode to spray is nice for them. Its a great faucet, if you like the look you'll be fine with the operation. Would get again.

Works ok, feels cheap

After removing the old faucet, this took less than 30 minutes to install. You can optionally choose either the wide base, if you need to cover separate hot/cold feed holes in your sink, or a black metal trim ring with a plastic insert under it. I chose the ring. The faucet comes with a plastic ‘tool’ for hand tightening the hex nut that clamps the whole thing onto the sink. The instructions don’t mention that you must hold the faucet rotated to face forward as you tighten the nut. It’s a challenge to determine exactly what counts as ‘forward’ since the arm of the faucet is free to rotate about 120 degrees. It also is impossible for one person to hold the faucet and to tighten the nut, because the sink basin is in the way. The faucet body would tend to stay in position if it had a rubber gasket under it, but unfortunately the insert is hard plastic and does not grip the counter, so as you tighten the nut the entire faucet rotates. Then you discover your faucet will swing for miles to the right but very little to the left. Add to this that the hand tool doesn’t allow much leverage for tightening the main nut and securing the faucet body, and the results you get are a faucet that isn’t secured as much as you’d like. This problem of tightening the body sufficiently isn’t unique to Pfister, for instance Kohler solves it by having two jacking screws in the main nut that provide the needed clamping pressure to achieve a firm mount. Next in the installation are the supply lines, and these are not much fun. You expect a flexible hose with a braided stainless cover, but here you have a hard plastic 1/4”OD tube. There’a about a yard of it, and it has a memory and wants to sit like it did in the box. One thing it does not want to do is to connect on to your supply stops. The instructions show looping it like a pig’s tail, but it is a struggle and feels like a low cost alternative compared to normal faucet supply lines. The pull-out hand piece on this faucet is entirely plastic, and has an odd shape in that it expands from the 1.25” dia of the arm to about 2.25” at the outlet. The plastic gives a cheap feel to the faucet. On the positive side the faucet flow is good and the cartridge functions well. Now the faucet is installed and is fully functional, it looks odd from the front due to the fat headpiece, but the silhouette looks ok. In spite of my best efforts I am not pleased with the tightness of the body to the granite countertop, and I expect over time the faucet will loosen up and require re-tightening. I think I’m going to regret changing out my 7 year old Kohler for this faucet. 3 Stars for a functional faucet that isn’t as firmly installed as you’d like and is built a bit too cheap.
