Strong latches

Just what I needed

I refinished my father's 80+ year old Hoffman Ply wooden fishing tackle box. The hasp was gone, meaning so rusted that it would no longer function. Happy to have found this hasp for my project.

I mounted mine like the picture shows

Worked OK but there is no way of telling how to position the two pieces so that they close with a snap .I mounted mine like the picture shows, but they are too loose.

Size was miss leading

The description states the latch is 5.3 x 3" but the actual latch is only 3 x 1-1/2". It's not worth returning so I will look in local hardware store for the size I wanted.
