Big lock, too big for OnGuard's recommended use with 8018L Chain
This is the 8046 lock and is a very big, heavy lock. I'm sure would be great for something. However, it's not great for use with the 8018L Beast Chain Lock because it is too big to fit through the links. The frustrating part here is that OnGuard has a *pile* of stipulations to activate their "Anti-Theft Protection Offer" where they compensate you if your bike / motorcycle / jet ski or whatever is stolen while locked up with their products - and for the Beast 8018L chain one of the stipulations is that it be used with one of two locks, one being *this* lock, the 8046. You would kind of infer that means they're compatible, right? I did, but they are not. Thus, my lock will be heading back (and I'm left with the shipping bill to send this brick of a lock back) and I've deducted a couple stars. But if you are planning to use this lock for something other than securing a chain, it's probably a 5-star lock. I am not, however, impressed with the "Anti-Theft Protection Offer". As a matter of fact, I'm quite disappointed. The number of restrictions placed on this offer make me question if OnGuard has ever paid out a dime in it's name. First and foremost, you have to *pay* them to register for it. (See pic). Oh, and the thief can't have used an angle grinder or any other power tool in the theft. (How do you think a thief defeats a chain? They sit there and rub it with a file?) Also, you have to register *one* bike or "motorsport vehicle" and then that's it. Registered your mountain bike but your road bike was locked up with your OnGuard and got stolen? You're out of luck. You have to use certain products (like the 8018L chain) with certain other products (like this 8046 lock it's not compatible with) or no reimbursement. The thief has to leave the broken lock or chain behind. You have to register within 15 days of purchase of the lock. The offer is void in NY, or outside the United States. And lastly, if your home insurance policy is going to pay you $3000 on your $3500 bike, they're only going to pay $500, not the $3500 value of your bike...but who cares, right, because it's never going to get that far since your thief used a battery-operated angle grinder? Anyway, buy the lock if you want a big, heavy lock. But I would recommend you don't buy it if you think that you will be reimbursed in the event your possessions are stolen. Chances are, with this lock, they *won't* be stolen, but if they are, chances are you won't be reimbursed, either.

really nice lock
its a really heavy duty nice lock,i just bought the krytonite1415 ny faghettaboutit cain &lock a few months back for my trailer,this lock is comparable to it but cheaper ,nice looking rubberised lock some dont even begin to look this nice & solid, the locking mechanism is smoothe and tight,i like both locks the same, i dont know about the difference in security because i dont want to tear them up or know how to pick them,i've read good reviews about both though both are really good locks

Great lock
Wow what a nicely made product. Solid and such a precise feel. The hasp is too large to fit through a chain link though. I paid very little so kept it and had to find another option for my chain. Now what can I lock up with it? I tried the fridge and freezer doors but my wife did not think that was funny.

So far so good. Cute size...
I don't why but this lock comparing to other locks by the same manufacturer, Onguard, this one does have a remarkable security rating (95) than its peers around the same price. And by "its peers" I mean especially the Pitbull series and other ones in the Boxer series, which all have security ratings of 80. It's working well with me so far. I admit that I didn't realize its cute size before buying but this definitely is my own problem, as the size is clearly stated.

Super lock. . .
Verrrrry heavy duty. But shackle does not fit thru regular chain loop so I bought 5' grade 80 1/2" bulk chain from online source. This chain is used by earth moving equip. Like the lock, chain takes long time to grind thru but blow torch is best. Shackle just fits through 1/2" chain loops.
