Got the Job Done
Overall, I really liked this marker. I used it to write a Valentine message on a plain white mug I got a Bed Bath & Beyond. Having read some reviews about it streaking, etc, I tried my best to follow the instructions to the letter. I shook the pen well, and tested it on cardboard first to get the paint flowing. I did not have any problems with the paint streaking when I used it, however, I did have an almost exact opposite problem.... so much paint came out that it tended to puddle, and since I was writing on a mug, the sides were very sloped and I had to do the project in pieces to let the puddles dry enough that they wouldn't break away and drip down the sides. I let it dry for 24 hours and then baked it for 35 min at 350 degrees. The mug looked great. Because I used so much paint, I didn't have any translucency issues that some people mentioned though I could see that possibly happening if I hadn't used much paint. After it was used once, I washed it in the dishwasher - top rack - on normal wash mode. When I took it out and dried off residual water, some of the paint - in one of the "puddles" seemed to smear a bit. It didn't go so far as to be a visible smear outside the edges of the paint, but that area is not as smooth and shiny as it was originally. I noticed it, but I don't think anyone else would unless they were looking for it. So all that being said, I think I would be more meticulous in my process, making sure not to use so much paint. This was, after all, the first time I've ever used any product like this to write on ceramic or porcelain, so I think my issues might just be beginner mistakes.

Great pen!
Love this item. I wanted to write on plates and cups to personalize gifts. I was told you could do this with a sharpie, so not true. The sharpie washed right off after baking and did not seem safe to place food on. This pen worked great! I wrote and decorated a plate, then baked it as per instructions on pen. After the plate cooled, I scrubbed it with a dish brush, then placed it in the dishwasher for a full cycle. When all was done, the words and decorations were still there, untouched. I couldn't even scratch it off with my nails. I used it again a few months later and the pen worked as new. Am looking forward to using other colors. ***Edit*** January 29, 2015 I used the pen again and it still works like a charm. I keep it stored flat like it says and away from excessive heat/cold. I used it on a glass container I bought at your local "mart", let it dry 24 hrs and then baked it as per instructions. Once it was cooled, I washed it in the sink and then placed it in the dishwasher for a full cycle as I have done when I use it on ceramics. The results were the same. It did not wash off and I could not scrape it off with my nails. The great thing is I can put a picture or words on one side of the glass and trace the design with the pen. Really LOVING this pen. Will be ordering more in different colors soon. The one I have is a BULLET TIP which is thick and harder to do small words with. Am going to order a FINE TIP and see how that works. **Edit** February 24, 2016 Some have been saying their projects have come off. As I was reading through many of the comments I noticed people saying they let it air dry, but they don't mention baking it in the oven. After you make your design you need to let it air dry for 24 hours then BAKE it according to the directions on the pen. It will not stay if you only let it air dry. I have used my plates and cups in the dishwasher and have not had any problems. I hope this helps.

Just right
This worked great on a ceramic coffee cup that had never been written on. The pen that came with it had dried up, so this was just right for its purpose.

Works great before it dries out
I want to love these but I can't quite. I've ordered them a few times and when you first open it they work great and were perfect for scripting on ceramic. They are a medium thickness and two or three coats will give a nice dark black stroke. (Let it dry between coats through or it will take the previous coat off if it's still wet.) I wish it only took one coat though because it's hard to perfectly copy over script. My biggest complaint is that they dry out really fast. If I don't use it for a while it won't work when I try it again. The first time this happened I was able to kind of scrape at the tip with an xacto knife to get the dry parts off and then press down on the tip a bunch to get it flowing and I was able to use it again. When this happened with my second pen that I had barely used, I couldn't get it working again and I had to buy a new one. I wouldn't mind as much if these were a little cheaper but they are really only worth it if you're going to use the pen a lot right after you open it.

Re-markably all right...
I was really surprised that it came in a pack of six!! When I first purchased it for $6.73, I thought this was one really fancy overpriced marker. Almost passed over it. Glad it was for 6!! Worked relatively well for my mug project. Survived hand washing. Description: Each pen was plastic sealed/ wrapped. Be sure to shake it well first. The tip is white when you first open it. You have to push the tip in/ against a piece of paper ( it is like a retractable pen) a few times, you will see the black ink flow. The tip will turn all black. Performance: When you first use it, the color is bold and comes out smooth. Doesn't work well when you cursive/ handwrite quickly. Use slow steady movement. Smudges / smears easily, so tie your hair and don't have quick swiping motions. Ink will dry out. So push on the tip again. (I didn't know that). Don't do it to much, or it will overflow and look watery! Best if you have a steady hand and good control. Marker will dry out, and doesn't work the next day. I went through 3 markers. Really disappointed about this. Tips: Let it dry before going over the design the second time. It will smudge. If you make a mistake, use rubbing alcohol and a q-tip. Hot water and soap doesn't work. Will try to post picture.

Easy to use- but doesn’t leave a dark black line on glass.
Easy to get it to work. You just keep pushing down on the pen (like a pumping action) and it allowed the ink to flow down. But the line left behind on clear glass is not a clear dark black line. I tried to go over my lines to make it darker and clearer but it looks patchy. However this might be a different case on White or coloured porcelain- I’m not sure because I haven’t tried. You’ll need to leave it to dry for 24hours before baking to set it.

Fait un trait foncé bien défini
Produit fonctonne bien, facilite la tâche pour les contours et les écritures, beaucoup mieux que Sharpie sur la porcelaine.

Really easy to use
We used this pen for decorating tiles to turn into coasters. Definitely the best choice for this job and much easier than paint. The nib does start to wear out after a while but I would definitely buy again for this task.
