Tire grabs the trail, very stable in loose gravel.
The tread pushes material away and provides a good ride, great all terrain tire.

Nice tire at a good price
I really like this tire. I needed something that could handle a range of terrain and this does the job for me. Highly recommend

Great Deal on an Aggressive Tread Tire
This is a great price for a mountain bike tire! I got this one for the rear tire on my Currie electric-assist mountain bike. I wanted a wide tire that would grip in gravel, and support 200 lbs of rider. This does a fine job! I paired this with theKenda K850 Aggressive MTB Wire Bead Bicycle Tire, Blackskin, 26-Inch x 1.95-Inch on the front -- also via Prime so shipping was free. And to make it all work, I got two extra thick Slime tubesSlime 26" SV Thorn Resistant Thick Smart tube 26 x 1.75-2.125 (Schrader Valve) . I was a little concerned at first because the Kenda tires were heavy duty on the tread portion, but the sidewalls seemed thin. However, I counted on the thick tubes to help out with this. Since mounting both tires, I've put the bike through the real test -- gravel and cactus-covered trails in the AZ mountains. They give me grip, both uphill, downhill with both brakes applied in a 2-wheel skid -- and side-to-side. By the way, when mounting these yourself, a trick taught me by a repair-guy at my local bike shop might help. Get your old tires off, of course. Put just a little air in the tube(s) -- and on slime tubes, turn so the stem is at the top, so you don't get any goop leaking out. The air will give the tube some shape. Put some dish-soap in warm water in an old bowl. Dip the tube in, bit by bit, until it's all wet. This will let it slide inside the tire if you need to do any adjusting. Put the tube inside the tire. Now take the slippery soapy water in hand and wet the tire on both outer sides where it will met the metal rim. Now start to lever the tire onto the rim -- starting with the tube stem placed through the hole in the metal. Get the whole inner bead on the far side (away from you) seated inside the wheel. If you need to, push and pull a little to make sure the stem is still lined up -- you don't want it bent in any way. I managed to do the next bit all by hand, but if you need help, you can use a big blunt flathead screwdriver to help you pry. Just don't pinch the tube! Lever the tire onto the wheel rim. Once in place, inflate the tire. Now you're ready to mount it on the bike. Buying this tire (and the other, plus tubes) and doing the work myself, saved me somewhere between $50 and $100. Recommended!

Nice looking trail gripping tread
When I was shopping for new bike tires most look like the are packaged all folded up and tied. Never bought bike tires like that and was not sure how tough a folded up tire could be. So I was happy these came fully shaped and ready to go. Have not had them long so will have to see how long they last, but they have a cool deep tread that grip the terrain well. Even mud.

Great tire, Sidewall lettering is lame
The Kenda K816 tire arrived in a tire sized box when ordered from Amazon. This made for an easy install without having to massage the wire bead back into a perfect circle from a folded tire. I purchased this tire to replace a rear tire of the same decimal rating on an old Trek MTB. Feels noticeably heavier and harder to roll than the old Michelin, but maybe that's due to the fresh treads. After riding on pavement to get the factory slickness off the tires, they grabbed very well in damp grass as I climbed a 50% grade in and out of a 12 ft deep water retention field. The sidewalls are rigid in a 20mm BSW wheel and held its shape well at 40 psi under a 150 lbs rider. Low price tires usually have black sidewalls with no designs whatsoever, so I like to fill in the letters with paint pens. Unfortunately, the "KENDA" letters on the sidewalls of these tires are about a half inch tall and are puny. Contrary to popular belief, there is no width standard for MTB tires. Each manufacturer has their own arbitrary system. The "width" is the approximate length of the arc from what the manufacturer considers to be the outer treads, edge to edge - not the diameter of an inflated tire. You can only rely on the numbers to compare relative widths of the same series tires by the same manufacturer. That being said, the width rating has become more standardized as tire manufacturers go through mergers and source tires from the same factories.

These aren't 2.1" like the old 2.1"
I don't know why Kenda called these 2.1s. They are not. I'm sure they are good tires for a hybrid around the neighborhood but not for an actual mountain bike.

Way too skinny for a 2.1 compared to the old
As others have pointed out these are super skinny, actually skinnier than the 1.95 street Kendas on my other bike. Not sure if they're real Kenda either but choices are limited for old 26" tire bikes and I don't want to dump money into upgrading the bike other than to just keeping it rolling.
