Comfortable w/ nice features
Positive Comfortable w/ nice features which include a SVU/UVA Sun Cover that folds behind the chair. The side adjustable levers are easy to use Negative The chair has all the features above however, in my opinion the chair is better served for a child or European teenager. If your a small frame person then it’s great

good for easy travel
my parents are 65 and they like these. they're low to the ground so if you're not moderately fit you might struggle. it's nice to carry on your back and not worry about carrying a separate umbrella

Sturdy and protective beach chair
Believe it or not - I live at the beach and have never had a beach chair - don't sit much! But after an injury, I thought I would like a beach chair. I did so much research before spending on such an item. This one is perfect! It's really sturdy, roomy, and the right height off the ground. Not too high, not one of those-low-to the-sand chairs. The only thing is it is a bit heavy to carry far. (I'm in my 60s) however carrying it a block to the beach and down the sand to the water is a breeze. Really enjoying this chair. I should mention the sun protection - it's adjustable and really saves form the harsh sun!! Wow

sits really low
This chair sits very low to the ground so if you're a big guy, you might want to pass and get something taller. It's hard to get out of. Turning it over to kids because the price was right, and I believe it will last many seasons.

serves its purpose
This chair fell short of my expectations, but I am keeping it because the sun shade works well. Firstly, the backpack feature is a joke. The chair is too wide to actually use the backpack straps, so they just get in the way. They should've made a shoulder strap instead. The chair is not easiest to open and close, but once open, it is roomy and comfortable. I took it out in the sun to test the shade feature which was the reason I bought it and was pleased to find that it did provide a lot of shade. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to snap the sun shade metal sides all the way down, so that's annoying, but it works regardless. No idea what the huge pouch on the back is for but I guess that's just a personal preference. Overall way too expensive for what it is but ok because it is hard to find a shade option for the beach outside of a huge umbrella.

Not ideal for east coast beaches….
The chair is great and does exactly what it’s meant to do. It’s well made and sturdy and was easy for me to carry on my own. However, I quickly realized that to block the sun at the beach (east coast) you need it blocking towards the front which completely blocks your view. After about 2 pm when the sun was high enough it worked great, but not in morning/early afternoon hours unless I totally blocked my view and then I couldn’t watch my kiddos. I’ll still keep the chair since it’s a nice chair but if you’re visiting an east coast beach (where the sun rises over the water) keep in mind that you wont get total sun blockage unless you swing the canopy to the front and completely block your view.

BEST CHAIR EVER
*Light weight. *Easy to carry - padded straps to wear like a backback *Easy open and close *Back "pocket" holds a lot of stuff and has a drawstring closure so nothing falls out * LARGE cup holder easily holds over-sized cups *VERY sturdy canopy - holds up extremely well, even in steady and gusty beach winds *Comfortable seat - no bar under the legs *Firm, sturdy, comfy arm rests and the back adjusts easily. We experience some pretty significant winds on our recent trip to the beach. The canopy handled it with ease. I was amazed! That being said............ if the canopy is up on a really windy day, somebody needs to be sitting in it or it will blow away. I tried to move the chair when the wind was blowing really hard and it almost knock me (a 160 lb woman) over. It pushed me backwards for several feet before i could stop it. I had to fall forward in the chair just to make it stop. It was actually hilarious. I wish I had a video of that to share........ trying to come up with a negative, but there just are none. Best beach chair hands down. I write a fair amount of reviews and I try to be as fair and informative as I can. I've never been paid or offered discounts for any of them. Somebody sign me up for that!

Great sunshade. No cooler. Painful backpack
Pros and cons. Cons: 1) Unlike my previous beach chair this had no insulated cooler for drink cans, though the drawstring bag attached to the frame is large enough to take one. 2) The drawstring does not completely close the bag so loose objects - sunglasses, keys, sunscreen etc fall out if the chair is upended - as it will be when you open it on the beach or stow it in the trunk. 3) Again unlikely previous model, the chair frame cuts painfully and awkwardly across the lower back when the loaded chair is carried as a backpack. Pros: 1) Very effective sunshade. 2) Sturdy, light frame.

Will not last 2 seasons.
It broke the second time I used it. I'm not overweight or that large either. The concept is good; reclining, with shade, lightweight and built in backpack straps make easy transport. However, the lightweight materials make it really flimsy and breakable.

Rio beach chair
I love the look of this chair but there was a piece broke off the metal part of the chair. Also there was no head cushion rest like the one in the photo.
