So useful!

It’s great to use for seasoning cast iron, basting your baked goods, buttering pans for baking etc. Dishwasher safe. And the flower ring keeps the mess off of your counters!

Great Design but don't run handle through the dishwasher

Received one of these as a gift a few years back and really liked it . . . until recently. The coating on the handle is peeling off even though it was only ever placed on the top rack of the dishwasher. In addition, when the red silicone brush is pulled off, water is visible inside the clear plastic. Per the above question and comment section, water in the handle has happened before. Due to the nice design bought a new one and taking off a star because the packaging says dishwasher safe. While the red silicone brush heads can go in the dishwasher, the handle is best washed by hand to prevent peeling and water intrusion. The red silicone brush easily pulls off and snaps back on. Photo(s) shows the new purchase with the red brush still on compared to old one that went through dishwasher and collected water and peeled.

Great for basting, annoying to wash in dishwasher

My husband loves this brush. He finds it sturdy and likes how evenly bastes and can be laid down without touching flat surface. The same feature that holds it up makes it annoying to wash in the dishwasher: do not put in silverware cup, lay it down on rack.
