Works great

Zero issues using this to remove bottle caps from my drinks. Usually can remove them with one pull, but if it sometimes takes two pulls, that's not a big deal. It's not like I'm opening hundreds of drinks at a time.

Works really well, not as convenient for keys

Works well. Sturdy and all of that. I am using it to replace a small carabiner I would put all my keys on. It works, but it's sometimes bothersome to get the keys back out. My keys also get it stuck at awkward angles in my pocket sometimes, but that's just the price of having a multi tool. If I could recommend an adjustment, it would be to make the carabiner latch longer to make it easier to use/more accessible. Then again, I might not be the target user, and that adjustment could get in the way of other functions. Either way, for this cheap it's well made and worth it if you want to have a multi tool on hand.

Good enough tool

I was looking for something safe to take on planes while traveling. This was perfect for my price range. The only grip I have is the box cutter portion of the tool. It is basically just the edge of the screwdriver portion of the tool. I tried opening boxes with it and it technically works with enough force, but I would probably just grind it down to a shaper point to make it more useable.

Functional, thin and lightweight pry bar, scraper, and package opener.

If you're debating between the Nite Ize DoohicKey and the Kershaw PT-1, I would go with the DoohicKey. Reasons for DoohicKey: It's lighter and thinner. The box opening part is finer, so it's closer to a cutting edge without being a blade compared to the Kershaw. The carabiner like clip makes attaching to things easier. (The clip feels a tad flimsy compared to a true carabiner clip, but so far has held up.) Use case: I use it mostly for keyboard maintenance: scraping gunk off of it, popping out keys to clean/fix. The occasional prying of staples or gunk on desk. And to maintain the longevity of my Victorinox pocket knife, who's combo tool can be used for scraping and prying. I don't use it much for opening boxes, as I prefer the utility of a blade. And haven't had the need at all for the wrench section, which may... possibly... come in handy if you're in a MacGyver type situation. Note: Though I haven't had issues with the TSA in the US with this tool, I have had to surrender this to the "TSA" of Costa Rica, who have a very strict "no multi-tool" policy. So keep that in mind for return travel. Reasons for Kershaw PT-1: As one good YouTube reviewer points out: the bottle opener is better, the flat head end is useful for... well, flatheads, and not having the wrench hole area in the middle is good for stuff not getting stuck in there, like keys. To that I would also add: if you have bigger hands, don't mind the chunkier size and weight, need the flat head option and want a comparatively better bottle opener. If you remove the plastic on both sides (they are easily removable), to thin it out it doesn't make much of a dent in the bulky feeling.

Everyone’s keys should have one of these

I have probably bought 10-20 of these niteize doochey tool. There are extremely use full. Use mine all the time for everything from opening boxs, to opening bottles, and to remove small hex headed screw bolts.

Typically love these gadgets. This one had an issue I couldn't get past...

I love Nite Ize products and have several. Thought carrying the DoohicKey Keychain Multi Tool with my car keys would be a great idea. Unfortunately, the blade (screwdriver/knife edge of sorts) is sharp enough that it was cutting through my coat pocket linings. Also, more than once, I sort of jabbed myself digging around for my keys. No blood or anything like that, but it was enough to give me a jolt. Sharp is good, mind you - just not the way I was carrying my keys.

High quality carabiner with great functionality that lasting durability

High quality carabiner with great functionality that lasting durability. Even after over a year of abuse on my keychain it's survived and still opens beers and tightens ikea chair nuts well (thought I would NOT recommend anyone using a card-style hex wrench for heavy duty work). My only qualms with the product is simply that the printing on mine was a bit misaligned, though it may only be on my model. Perhaps the silver version may be better in that regard (the PVD hasnt scratched off, but there are silver streaked wear marks on mine).

Nite Ize doohickey (black)

A 'Doohickey' is apparently a small piece of kit that you can't quite remember the name or function of, and this is a well made little key-ring tool in black coated stainless steel that you can clip on and forget you are carrying it. Large flat blade that is really too big for any but the largest slot-head screws or machine bolts, but is ideal for digging and levering, and has enough of a bevel on the lower edge that it makes a great parcel tape/box-cutter so you don't have to gum up your favourite penknife with sticky tape residue. The bottle opener is situated close to the front of the tool so you can exert reasonable force with minimal effort. The top edge has an inch scale etched on one side and a cm scale on the other which I suppose may come in handy one day, and the inside of the loop has three (marked) cut outs for dealing with smaller bolts. Easy to clip on and off a keyring, belt loop or pack with the sprung clip, and this is a handy little tool that isn't much bigger than a key itself and is perfectly safe to carry in your pocket. The black coating seems pretty resilient too and hasn't scratched even being kept on a ring with keys

Simple and effective

This thing is useful for basic things on a day to day basis. Quick repairs, opening packages, opening bottles. They tools are solid for a little bit of kit

Great zipper pull!

I've used Nite Ize products for eons... I got the DoohicKey to toss in my small deployment bag...However, it ended up as a great zipper pull... The DoohicKey is rock solid, light weight, only ~2.5 inches long and does not create bulk. I use the box cutter, screw driver and ruler pretty often. For a quick go to tool, it is not a bad Keychain / zipper pull... This will not replace a whole pliers / knife multi-tool set but at only ~2.5 inches X 0.1 inch, it is there when you need it.
