A simple 5 minute replacement fix for our RV!
We have a 2007 Keystone Outback Travel Trailer that we absolutely love and use a lot. However, things break and wear out over time and cabinet hardware in our RV is no exception, especially the cabinet full of all the snacks that gets opened and closed several hundred times a day to accommodate my "Starving Children". On our last week long camping trip one of our cabinets that uses these bulldog catch latches wore out in the middle of the vacation, so no matter what we did the cabinet would just pop back open, to the point we almost thought the camper was haunted :-). It took me a while to actually find these on amazon because I had no idea what they were actually called, but I am glad I finally found them. These were an exact replacement to the hardware in our camper. It comes with a set of two in the package which is nice since I had another cabinet that was almost ready for a new latch as well. This also comes with the screws needed to mount the hardware even though I did not need it for my swap out as I just used the old screws. the screws are pretty tiny so make sure you are just using a screwdriver to install them so you don't stripe out your existing screw holes or new pilot holes. These were a simple 5 minute replacement fix, but would probably take 10 - 15 minutes for a new installation for any stubborn door or cabinet you want to keep shut. These were definitely what we needed to fix our "haunted" cabinet door. :-)

Better latches out there
They just don't hold together very well. Need to be very gentle installing. I decided to switch to magnetic type latches with 30-40 pounds of pull. Screws will snap if using a impact driver ( my bad ) .

Very cheap and weak.
Too weak to keep RV drawers closed. The screws are so soft they strip with very little pressure. I ordered them because they look like the ones that have been working in the RV for 16 years and still working. I was going to replace some other types that are worn out. These are very low quality copies.

The outer ring breaks too easily. Not sturdy enough to last long.

Bulldog latch replacement in 30 year old Airstream
These were an exact replacement for the 30 + yr old Bulldog latches in our Airstream.

Replaced the originals nicely, but don't have the same holding power.
Used them in an RV. These look just like the originals. But they don't lock as tightly as the originals. Not sure yet whether they will hold the cabinets closed is something inside bumps against them???? And that's why I gave them only 3 stars.
