Brews good tea but needs some improvements

This tea brewing kettle does the job. For the price (about $30), it was half what others cost. I drink mostly black English breakfast tea and it does a good job of it. I like the variable temperature setting options for different kinds of tea (each setting has a different color lighting that goes with it). It stays on the one I used last (& most). It's relatively easy to clean. The things that need to be improved: (1) The lid only opens to about 60-70 degrees. This would not be a problem except for its impact on #2. (2) The stainless steel filter is awkward to get in and out. The lid only opening to 60 degrees and the way its hinged makes putting in the filter a little difficult - especially since it means that there's a "cutout on about a third of the rim of the filter. The result is if you do not get the filter in just right, it can slip all the way into the kettle and then you have to try and fish it out. (3) The button on the top of the lid to open it does not work consistently. Sometimes I have to push it 2-3 times to get the lid to pop open.

Everything except tea infuser great...

This thing is awesome. I love it. It has five settings, changes color per setting, works great, looks beautiful, is fairly easy to clean and operate. The tea infuser however, not so great. Biggest problem I see with the tea infuser is how it mounts to the kettle. It feels and looks cheap. The mounting portion is made out of plastic, which amazing me on how it does not melt. But the mounting of it is so bad, that dropping the infuser into the kettle is VERY easy to do. You can even slightly shake the kettle while empty and you'll hear and see the infuser swing inside and possible drop inside as well. The infuser is nice and works great as long as you can tolerate how it mounts to the kettle. If you want to use the kettle just to boil water at controlled temperatures, the thing is golden. I recommend this product as long as it's not used to make large batches of tea as a primary and frequent use.

Great product,

I wish I would have purchased it sooner. saves me so much time. Before I would put the teakettle on the stove and then go get dressed, and I would still have to wait for the water to boil. Now when I turn on Electric Kettle, and by the time I take my morning pills, my water is boiling. So now I get dressed before I even turn it on. Like I said it is a time saver.

This product is great with a few things worth noting.

The body of the kettle is made of heavy glass. It's nice because you can see the contents. You can see how much water you have in there and the color of the tea brewed. The tea infuser is nice, but the fit of the infuser for this model seemed a bit different than the previous model we had. This one sometimes, if it's not carefully fitted, the infuser falls into the kettle itself, which takes some effort to get it out because the water opening is not too wide. A pair of tongs or chopsticks help. The lid has a button to push to open the lid. My husband had no problem with it but I seem to have to try a few times to get it open. Maybe because I didn't use as much force and/or because my finger is smaller and it doesn't cover the whole button? (don't know). Lastly, this feature is nice but not with an old dog in the house that's sensitive to all beeping sounds. I personally don't mind it, rather like the beep to alert you when the water is finished boiling. There is also a beep when the kettle is been put back on the base. One beep to start the kettle; when the water is done and finally, one more beep when the kettle is returning to the base. My dog has a louder, and higher-pitched bark, and it hurts to see that's hurting him too. Again, please take this review as a reference only. This is a well-made product, and our last Chefman lasted a while. We will be looking for another Chefman without the beeping sounds for sure. Oh, I should mention that I like the choices of the water temperature and the colors. The colors are just fun to look at but the temperature choices allow me to brew different teas at the proper temperature. That's a very nice feature. Thank you

awesome kettle

I've been avoiding getting an electric kettle because I just didn't see the point. I can heat water in a small pot on the stove just fine. But..... I have ADD and a bad habit of turning on the stove and forgetting about it until the pot boils dry. I finally decided to get an electric kettle and I love it! No more ruined pots and it heats really fast. It's also very easy to clean. I just spray the inside with powerwash to dissolve the mineral buildup, wipe it out with a sponge and rinse. It does seem to keep the water hot for a while after it turns off, which is good, because when I do remember that I was making tea I don't have to wait for it to heat up all over again.

Handy and for a basic boiling of water this is a great product

Very convenient, I been enjoying having the water at my finger tips without firing up the stove top. I started boiling water to use in ways I haven't before. Adding it to water I'm trying to boil on stove top, it helps get the water boiling faster that way. I did that when cooking noodles. I also boiled some water to pour over some tools I wanted to give a sterilize rinse to before washing. It's been handy. I'm a coffee drinker, my teen doesn't drink coffee, but start drinking tea. It has been great for him to stay out of my way when I'm cooking and be able to make himself a cup of tea.

It does the job

I have had this kettle for 2 years now and it has not failed me once. It is sturdy and does the job of boiling water quickly. I don't tend to use the metal filter to diffuse herbs or whole tea leaves, as it is tedious to remove and clean up. If using it to merely boil water, it's great. For those concerned about a proper pour for tea or coffee, a gooseneck kettle might be a better option.

Met all expectations!

As a remote worker, I purchased this to place on my desk with the intention of changing from coffee to tea. It is convenient, easy to use, and just plain pretty cool. I've since gone straight to tea (after researching which teas were best to consume. I'll press the heat button around 6 times throughout my shift. Since using it over the past month, I'm absolutely in love with it. It's easy to put tea bags in the basket as well as actual 'fresh' items such as ginger. It's easy to clean. I can only hope that it will last forever! Happy buyer!

Infuser is not easy to remove, opening is not very big so not easy to clean

It's a nice kettle, but if you plan on removing the infuser often, it is not as smooth as it seems. It fell into the kettle and the opening is not wide enough so it's a challenge to clean.

Works good but not for ever

I liked the temp settings and colours. Plastic rim broke off around bottom over time but that didn’t really affect anything. I bought this Sept 2019 and it just stopped working Jan 2022.

Bigger than I thought

Only thing I dislike is the level of water as minimum required, it is a lot (0.5L) it wastes a lot of water if you want to make just one cup of boiling water. It also beeps at everything if you don’t like high pitch beeps might not be the kettle for you but if you are distracted the beeping will get your attention.
