Nice sander

This is a decent sander. Worked well with removing old finish on a project and left a clean surface to stain or paint. Full charge lasted through the project before I needed to charge it again. Happy with this.

Works great

This portable handheld sander works great! It works excellently and has strong power! The sanding papers are good quality and easy to change. The instructions are simple and clear. It has variable speeds-- so, you can apply the pressure you need. Charges quickly and holds for a long time.

Cordless convenience and good dust extraction

I was bit skeptical of how well this Greenworks orbital sander would work as it appeared to be a bit awkward and unbalanced in the product photos. I was very pleasantly surprised to discover that it is very comfortable to use in operation and not unbalanced at all. It is quite comfortable, with vibration levels typical for a random orbit sander. Overall, the tool feels very solid and well made. As would be expected, the battery adds a bit of weight so I found that it performed best with a very, very light pressure (in fact, you almost need to lift it a bit in use). A minor complaint is that the on/off button is a bit small and hard to access under its flexible plastic dust guard leaving it difficult to operate (especially if wearing gloves). As a test, I sanded two sides of a plywood panel. For the first side, I attached my shop vac to the dust extraction port. I was very pleased to find almost no stray dust on my work surface after sanding the panel. On the second side, I used the supplied dust bag with no vacuum attachment, as expected, there was more residual dust, but overall, most of it was captured within the bag itself. Using a vacuum or dust extractor is definitely preferred, but the collection bag is perfectly acceptable for use in a location where that is not possible/practical. On thing I really like about the Greenworks system is that there are battery level indicators on the packs. I wish all tools had that feature. However, another minor complaint is that this tool comes with a mini-charger. While it does a perfectly adequate job, there is no way to wall mount the charger itself, meaning that it needs to sit on your bench when in use. Overall, I was positively impressed with this Greenworks sander and recommend it to anyone looking for an orbital sander with cordless convenience.

Perfect for so many of my DIY projects

I like to build things and fix things myself like coffee tables or my own picture frames. This is a great sander that isn't too heavy for me to use on a project. I'm not the strongest so having a sander that is on the lighter side is a must. This one is cordless too! It doesn't take too long to recharge when needed. I've only experienced good things with the Greenworks brand. I'm impressed with the quality.

Powerful cordless convenience in a full-featured package

Greenworks seems to be establishing itself as a good value name brand over the bigger companies. It has a wide assortment of battery tools. This sander fits my impression of the brand. The sander itself is sturdy and put together flawlessly. It is powerful, with a 24V battery while many others have 18V. The power switch is sealed behind a soft clear cover protected from dust. There are 3 speeds. It comes as a full kit with dust bag, battery (2Ah) and charger. Also 1 coarse (P80) 5" sanding disc is included; other grits are easy to find as it is a standard size (I bought an assortment pack separately). I love the discs compared to the flat sheets I have to fit on my old sander; just pull the worn/clogged on off and put on another one - the hook and loop attaches it strongly. And of course being cordless it is so much easier than working around a cord or needing to be near power all the time. This tool checks all the important boxes. A few of the less important details aren't quite on the same level given the rest of the package: -The wires to the charger are quite thin; they will be fine if the tool stays at home but I'll be a bit careful. Where the wires connect to the charger base and plug they do have a nice strain relief section so that is good -The dust catcher fabric cover doesn't stay on; it blows off on high speed. I snugged it up with a zip tie so it stays on now. Considering this sander is cordless and includes the battery and charger (a big part of the cost) it is a solid value. And if you use other Greenworks cordless tools it is even better.

Not Happy!

Might have really liked the product, but was supposed to have come with battery and charger. The 1st one sent didn't, so I sent it back and waited on replacement. Came a day later than promised, but was still glad to get it.....BUT it was the same as the 1st NO BATTERY OR CHARGER. Buying one else where.

Good power and value

I do lots of woodworking projects and was interested in a second sander for my shop. This was my first Greenworks tool and I can say I’m impressed with the value and performance. Does an adequate of material removal and dust extraction. Battery charge is average for a battery of this size, and I would say recharge speed is just below what my Milwaukee M18 charger delivers from empty to full. If you’re already in the Greenworks ecosystem, this is a no brainer.
