Very nice!

This is exactly what I was looking for. Strong and sturdy, attractive in appearance, solid, high quality stainless steel. This will serve me well in my kitchen, and I anticipate it lasting for many years...unless it gets "misplaced" like my previous skimmer did. Lesson: don't loan the neighbor your kitchen utensils. ;) You may never get them back.

The Cheapest but most Practical Turner

And still after all these years...I have owned my first one for 10 years+ already and it looks identical to the new one I just bought. It is not too thin, not too thick and it is pleasantly flexible. It has no breakable parts and the handle is not hollow and does not collect water. It has a good sized hole that hangs on every hook. It it well made because it has no sharp or uneven corners. It is solid stainless steal. It is the turner that will live in your kitchen forever, long after other tools with fancy gimmicks and plastic parts have hit the bin. The only small thing That could make this better would be the front being more squared off and not so rounded. But that is my opinion. Some people may prefer the lightly rounded front. But whatever your views on its shape, you will find yourself using it all the time. Hey, simple is good and sometimes the best.

Skimmer

I wanted a SS Skimmer to use to lift delicate poached eggs out of the water. I haven't used it yet, but I know it will be perfect as I wanted something that was almost flat and had small holes in the spoon part. I'm sure I will be using it in a lot of other ways! The handle and skimmer are all one piece and I particularly like the angle of the skimmer part. EXACTLY what I was looking for and meets my expectations!

Preferable to mesh

Bought this for frying. This perforated stainless sheet design is much nicer than your standard wire mesh spider because it's easier to clean. Polymerized fats will tend to hang out in the tight spaces in a mesh skimmer, and accumulate over time, unless you go in with a very small brush to get them out. This has a mostly flat surface you can just easily wipe with a sponge, and if you do get some polymerized fat in the holes, it's easy to knock it out with a wood skewer or something.
