I DIDN’T KNOW HOW MUCH THIS WAS MISSING FROM MY LIFE

I love this thing. I would take it with me everywhere if I could. Never expected to like to the point that it feels essential to have a ball to catch and bounce around with me at all times.

Great feel and amount of bounce

Bought this to take on walks, throw against walls, dribble, etc. Nice size and bounce. There are non-Spalding ones on Amazon that have a touch more bounce, if that's your thing.

Hollow, was looking for a regular rubber ball

It’s getting hard to find just a red rubber ball. When I was young you could find one in every grocery store for $1. I thought this was one but it’s hollow on the inside. Still it’s a nice bouncy ball but not quite what I expected

It’s been about a half a century…

It was the 1960s the last time I remember hearing the distinctive sound of my Spalding ball bounce on the floor, or the cool Spalding sound makes even when I’m catching it in my left or right hand. Some of the reviews say this is not the same ball is back in the day, maybe it is, likely it is not exactly the same. But it’s close enough, I’m nothing but glad that I bought it. Ordered on the 18th received it on the 22nd of the same month. We only get to relive our childhood ones, this for me is necessary paraphernalia to re-create some of those days long gone by. I might takeoff half a point because it doesn’t smell like I remember it smelling, there was no odor to the bowl I received. Looks brand new no scuffs, very happy.

disappointing compared with previous purchase

I bought this product because I had the "same" one that I purchased maybe 10 years ago or more. When this arrived it is noticeably softer than the original ball. When you repeat buy a product, it is disappointing when it is a shadow of its former self. I use the ball to release sore spots/knots in the soft tissue of my back, for which I find it very effective - the recently purchased ball is too soft for this and for me, a waste of money. My gripe is that my past positive experience guided my purchase and the new ball is not fit for my purpose. Is it unreasonable to expect consistent quality over time for the same product? C'mon Spalding, you are better than this.

It's Toby's ball!

I bought this becasue it is the iconic pink ball from the West Wing which Toby bounces all the time for inspiration. Whilst this has had no effect on inspiration, it has a very satisfying bounce and just the perfect size/ firmness for squeezing to streacth my hand.

Great for dogs

Great ball for a dog both medium (black lab) and small. Had issues with our dogs ripping the felt off of tennis balls which is not good for them since they would swallow it. This ball is very durable, large enough for them not to swallow (but may vary for large dogs), and has a great bounce that my dogs love since it adds extra play for them. They also like the balls when playing alone since they tend to bite down on the rubber which sends the ball across the room making them chase it.

It’s a ball...

Same as the one Toby uses in West Wing... But.....its a ball and £12.99 is somewhat expensive for what it is.
