Works Well !!
I did a lot of research before buying this one. The other price points (unless the super professional grades) don't add much more feature, more like a bigger water tank. 45 minutes of steam is enough for me, as my arm was sore after 30 minutes or less. :( Pros: steams up really fast (< 1min), no drips. works well. The trick is to sweep the wand *SLOWLY*, instead of rapid back-and-forth motion. And I find that putting the wand with the brush INSIDE the shirt, and pulling it out & upwards gives you more tension in the fabric and thus makes it smoother and crispier, more than just taking the wrinkles out if you just do it from the outside. Heavier cotton requires more work. Cons: The pole is still too short (but others are of same height). So for longer clothing, you have to stoop down to get to the bottom hem. The pole is steady, just wobbles slight from all the tugging, but that doesn't bothers me. The problem is the hanger will wobble and twist a whole lot more and thus making steaming process a bit harder. Caveats: some wrinkles may return if you don't do enough(same with using the iron). And also, the clothes can wrinkle when slightly damp from the steaming. So hang them carefully afterwards. Overall I like it much better than an iron, and much safer. You may still get slight burn from the steam if not careful, but nowhere close to touching a hot piece of iron. All this is just from my first use after reading all the tips in other reviews. I can only get better with practice. Highly recommend! EDIT: This portion is an update after one year of use. The steamer had clogged up a few times (no steam coming out after 1-2 minutes). It turns out, there was mineral build-up from my using regular tap water (vs distilled water). I had to give it a thorough clean & rinse thru to get all the yucky brown & black residues out. Make sure to flush out all the mineral deposits. I also recommend that you empty out all the water if you don't plan on using it for days. Not just the tank, but where the water pools at the bottom of the unit. Keep it dry if not in use.

Easy to use and affordable!
Got a professional type of steamer for my work clothes over 10 years ago at Costco. I have to admit I use it practically every day for my work clothes. Steaming is so much easier and it is the only way to go if you wear sweaters. Pulling out an ironing board and iron is too cumbersome! When my last steamer kept on leaking I knew I needed to look for one similar. This is even better. It has the same standup pole/hanger feature which is convenient but what I really like about this unit is that the container that holds the water for the steam is clear. You can see when you are running out of water. My last one had a black reservoir so it was annoying to run out of water in the middle of steaming. This is professional grade and very affordable. I would highly recommend.

Hack for draining mineral deposits
Steamfast SF-407 is one of three types of steamers I've used. SF-560 and SF-520 are the others. The SF-407 has been more reliable and easier to maneuver for me. I use the steamer with tap water and clean out the tank at least once a day to remove some mineral deposits. Every month or two, i use vinegar to more thoroughly clean out mineral deposits. I accept this as part of using the steamer and with using tap water. I have taken a couple of them apart and cleaned out deposits inside as well. Having purchased a number of units over the years, I have seen differences as Steamfast made changes to the SF-407. And there are differences in quality of steam from unit to unit. Some units produce steam easily while others struggle more. Some units may overheat and the unit's internal shutoff mechanism will trigger frequently. I've noticed that some units' steam quality may actually get better with use. I've had only one unit that just did not produce good enough steam. Even with these inconsistencies, I rely on the SF-407 to produce decent steam. HACK FOR DRAINING OUT MINERAL DEPOSITS: If you use tap water, the steamer will lose quality of steam easily as it ages. Cleaning deposits out everyday might become necessary. After using the steamer, you need to drain the internal tank of mineral deposits. The manual tells you to wait 15 minutes for the water to cool. But if you do, the mineral deposits harden to surfaces inside the machine. To remove these deposits, drain the water while it is still hot/warm. Just be careful to avoid touching the hot water as it drains out. First, add plenty of water to the external tank. Put a very large bowl/container to hold the drained out water or have the unit placed near some drain. Then, undo the unit's drain screw and remove it completely. (Use a tool like pliers to loosen the drain plug. Afterwards, you will want to screw it back on later tightly to avoid water leaking out.) Water will drain out. Periodically, tilt the unit forward and then backward so water is released from and then filled into the internal tank. This cleans out the internal tank more completely. If the unit's internal tubing becomes clogged, the water will only trickle out of the drain. Replace the drain plug. Then pick up the unit a couple inches off the floor and tap it down against the floor a couple of times on its 4 wheels to dislodge mineral deposits. Open the drain plug and continue to drain water. You will notice cloudy water with small particles of mineral deposits in the drained out water. Replace the plug when you feel that enough deposits have come out. update April 24, 2020: I’ve used multiple SF-407 steams over the years. They break down from my heavy usage of the machines. I don’t blame the steamers and still continue to buy them. They have improved over the years. And it does not seem possible to open up the steamer to clean out the mineral deposits — the inside water tank seems sealed from being opened up. The mineral deposits became too much trouble to deal with so I began using drinking water — cheaper than distilled but not completely mineral-free.

It works but..
You sort of need to keep the steamer part on end of tube up high which is an issue for long clothes. I’m not sure it’s that much better than my hand held. Bought for costumes. Water had leaked everywhere after last show. Not sure why and haven’t used it again since. Maybe we overfilled it? Other than that it worked pretty well. Hopefully it’s fine next time we fill it up.

Great product
I ordered this for my wedding to steam the table cloths and bridesmaids dresses. It was fast and easy. Way better than the handheld steamers and it folds down to a compact size for easy storage and doesn’t take up too much space.

Actually works quite well!
Was hesitant from past reviews but took a chance because third party review sites were favourable. Glad i did! Works great, a lil more time needed on blazers/thicker pants but still works well. Pole a little flimsy, but not too bad. YouTube some vids on how to steam properly, and I don't think this unit will disappoint.
