Works to keep cooling pads clean

I run my portable evaporative cooler every day during the summer. This product really does help to keep the pads from scaling up. It does make a fair amount of suds when you fill the cooler tank with water using a hose. It's not a big deal and probably wouldn't occur at all if the cooler filled continuously. This reduces my maintenance and saves the expense of replacing cooling pads every year.

Absolutely necessary if you have hard water

It’s Hard to find this water treatment for hard water in the stores ...Am so happy Amazon has them bc our water is so hard and I want my portacooler to last as long as possible! Just put in cooler once a month each time you clean it out and your good to go for another month! Will definitely purchase again for next hot season!!

They work,I live in a town that has very bad hard water and I waited to long to replace and my pad started to have a white haze on it so I replaced with new.I have used this sense the cooler was new and it’s works my pad is still in great shape and cooler is 4yrs old.

This item gave me severe headaches!

I have never tried this item before. I placed them into our Champion Cooler, but after a couple of days, I began to experience severe headaches. I rarely get headaches...5 times in the last 50 years. I believe it is directly linked to using this item. I will know within one week. I just removed them from my cooler and have begun to flush out the cooler repeatedly until no more of this chemical is in the water.
