Super bright!

Great little lantern. Super bright and the USB charging port is a great idea. I love the color as well. Easy to use and lightweight for its size.

Nicely Made Lantern that works as described

The lantern looks even better in person and works as described. The lighting can be low, medium or high which is super bright. Little tricky putting in the batteries, took some patience lining it up so bottom plate would twist in place. Tested the USB port for charging my phone and it works! Can charge the phone without the light being turned on. Really pleased with this purchase, but can wait a while for the next ice storm that causes us to lose power.

Very impressed by the light

Bought these for emergencies and are very impressed. Love that you can dim the light to save battery use. Haven't had to use it for more the an hour but was so impressed that I bought 2 more.

I use this product when we lose electric power. We have three of these units and find them to be vital to our safety when power has been disrupted.

Very Good Home Emergency Lantern

The first thing you notice when you unpack this lantern is that it is quite light for a full size lantern. It is made almost entirely from plastic. Even after adding six "D" cell batteries to it the weight of it should not be a problem for most people. However, because the product contains so much plastic I would not want to test its durability by dropping it more then a couple of feet. Putting batteries in it or changing them out can be somewhat a tedious exercise until you figure out how to align the bottom of the battery compartment to screw it in to the rest of the lantern. Once you have the batteries in it, this thing can really light up a room. I haven't measured it to see if it really puts out 800 lumens of light on its "high" setting, but it must at least be close to that. The three light settings give you a fairly wide range of light output to choose from but I would still prefer a product that has a switch that give you "dimming" capability for camping use. The USB port to recharge a phone or other devices is a nice feature but it does drain this product's batteries fairly quickly. All in all this is a very nice emergency lantern for around the home but may not be the best choice for camping because of its size, lack of a dimmer switch and somewhat questionable durability.
