I bought the small size for my 4-year-old daughter. She is tall for a 4-year-old and they fit her well with a little room to grow this summer. I actually have to bend them a little bit at the bottom, but I think a smaller size would have been too small. She loves them so much that we put them outside her socks (good thing it does not make a difference at this age). She can put them on and take them off by herself, they fasten well and easily, stay in place, and provide enough protection for her age group.
