Here’s the thing, with the price I knew I would not be getting top of the line perfect out of the box stuff here. Shipping - there were loose pieces in the bottom of the amazon shipping box so the inside was a giant mess. There were some washers and super small nuts that were packaged in little zip baggies. Much appreciated. Because a measuring tape is how I sorted most of the other items. Every. Other. Piece. Imagine Jim Carrey in ace ventura delivering this box, that’s what it looked like inside. Quality - pretty basic. There were some quality control issues with 5-6 of the bolts not being threaded. Big whoop. Did not received #10 x 1” which is a bummer The container dividers are completely worthless. I was not expecting them to be water tight but they kept nothing contained. At all. So I pulled them and super glued them in place. Seems to work just fine now. I appreciate the extra empty storage container.... because it was something I did not have to sort.

What a complete bunch of crap!!

They came in a series of boxes, completely jumbled together. There were supposed to be 6-32 bolts and nuts and washers, but there were NONE of any of the three. The smallest was 8-32, and very few of those. It didn't appear that there were near as many as advertised, but I'm not going to count the pieces. The metric set was no better.They are Grade 2, so don't use them for anything important. I would STRONGLY advise that your hardware be bought elsewhere, this is JUNK.

Not great...

My package was not as mixed up as others have reported, but I am hard pressed to see this being worth the price. The fasteners are not representative of any standard and are of lower quality than you get with the cheapest DIY furniture imaginable. They work, but barely. They can help out in a pinch, which is basically why I ordered this hence the 3 stars. The organization is ok. The rack is ok. I would at least like to see fasteners equivalent to SAE grade 2 at a minimum. What is included here would not meet that spec.

Basically, be prepared to sort those 1200 pieces yourself. This is probably going to be true of any big, cheap set of assorted hardware though. It look like they have made some improvements by putting the washers in tiny plastic bags since some of these earlier reviews were left. Still, the screws, nuts and bolts all got mixed together. In the photos you can see that a few container segments were completely emptied out & distributed all throughout the trays. On the other hand I haven't experienced a particular issue with the quality of the hardware. I mean, this is a cheap set - $0.016 per piece. With that in mind, it's not a bad deal even though I'm going to have to sort through these things every time I need a particular screw.

variety o nut and bolts

a lot of nuts and bolts and screws. i have gone to the store to buy 1 or 2 screws and its $1 or $2 then a couple of dollars for bolts and oh don't for get the washers. this adds up so fast. this has a good variety of every thing. i did have to use a Velcro strap to keep the drawers from falling out when i pick up the case. no big deal tho, unless i did not not have any velcro .

Parts Scattered

Good Product. Due to no restraints, the pieces were completely co-mingled negating the benefit of ordering this product. If they placed a film or a divider on each, it would solve the problem. It is like having a mayo jar full of nuts and washers.

These arrived pretty quickly, however, it looked like the whole thing was assembled by somebody trying to stack things in while going down a mogul in a windstorm. So packaging could be improved immensely. I have a junk drawer in my kitchen, as do many other folks, and it is more haphazardly organized than this shipment was on purpose. As to the quality of the hardware, I have no way of determining as this is just small pieces used to hold small household items. I suspect it will do these small tasks without a problem just don't expect them to hold up in an industrial environment.

Like a Miniature Hardware Store in the Home

The tray system is very convenient for storage and access, and every piece of hardware is marked for size. It is like having your own miniature hardware store in the home. There is an extra tray at the top that comes in handy--I use it to store wall anchors. I wish there were a higher count of each hardware type, would gladly pay extra to have fuller containers, because often you get a project that makes a heavy demand on one specific size. I may buy another just for the handy tray assembly and double up in one and re-label the other trays.

'Screwed' Screws

The kit has a box with SAE nuts and bolts, a box with Metric nuts and bolts and a box with "Screw Assortment". Looking into the Screw Assortment box I've notice one of the compartment with just a few screws which triggered my curiosity to count them because on the box lid there is a size/pieces chart., Bad Idea: in avarage, about 5% to 85% are missing. Now I am afraid to look into the other boxes. And is not convenient to return them, as the package is heavy and has quite a volume. Very disapointing.

Don't bother

I bought this "nice looking" hardware organizer, which includes the hardware. Sounds good until you receive the product with the hardware completely scattered in every compartment and inside the box the unit came packaged in. The boxes that the hardware is supposed to be in are also mostly useless as they don't latch closed. If you want to waste an hour re-organizing this cheap hardware, go ahead..., but if you want better quality for any reason other than very basic household tasks - spend more elsewhere. Total waste of money.

Get what you pay for

Expect to spend some time reorganizing the trays as they are all mixed up with the pieces strewn all over the place. The screws and bolts are very (VERY) cheaply made. They didn't need to mark them "Made in China", it was painfully obvious! There is still some flashing left on some parts, washers are not all punched through and I got a couple of washers that were only half there! Whatever you do, don't use these fasteners in any critical application.

Arrived scrambled

I received the assortment of nut, bolts and screws today. The carry case it comes in is strong and functional. The empty case is just that, an empty case, but with a carry handle. The big problem with this is that all the screws, nuts and bolts in the three other cases were scrambled and everywhere. Re-sorting them will be difficult and time consuming especially since I don't have a caliper to properly identify them. A simple fix would have been to put the items into small baggies for transport, which was done for a couple of the items. The other issue I have with these cases is, while they are secure when they are in the crry case, the lids do not close sufficiently. It seems like they will open very easily. I am very disappointed with this item
