Aftermarket filters do not fit
Filters are aftermarket style S1, they are not marked S1 on filter, they do not fit Intex Spa filter canister, 2nd purchase of filters, If using an Intex spa, need to replace with original S1 filters packaged in 2. these filters are shipped in a brown box unwrapped, do not use!!! cannot return partially used box

Be careful of the fit, cheap construction, good price
You can see in my pictures a comparison to a genuine Intex S1 filter (on the left). The Intex filter is made up of 4 pieces: the paper filter itself, a plastic insert to hold the shape, and a flexible top and bottom attached to the insert to hold it all together. The FILTREN filter is just paper wrapped around the insert, with a rubber-like material melted to the top and bottom to hold it all together (there *may* be plastic under the rubber, but I am not sure). This leads to the pleats not being even at all, which you may be able to see in the pictures too. All of this is fine, I suppose, and given the price difference, I only deducted one star for it, it's just not a big deal, considering that this is the filter for a small hot tub/spa. The biggest difference is the reason I deducted a second star (and almost gave it just 1 or 2 stars). If you look at the pictures, you'll see that the FILTREN filter has a mesh inside of it. This mesh is placed in such a way that... well... it doesn't fit on the place in my hot tub that the filter goes! The "prong" or whatever you want to call it is too long, so the filter can't go all of the way on, and the cover won't fit. I was able to hack it up with a box cutter and remove the mesh, and it only took me a minute to do, but is this really what I want to be doing to save a few dollars? If you don't mind this flaw (and by all accounts it is *not* a "don't buy this!" flaw), go ahead and save a few bucks on these filters... I'm certainly not going to return them or throw them out, I will gladly use them. But these are "adequate" and a 3 star product, not a 5 star replacement for the genuine Intex filters at a better price. J.Ja

Won't fit my saluspa- strange plastic grid inside
My spa always takes s1 filters but these do not work at all. They will not go on. They are the right size but they have some sort of plastic grid right in the middle that keeps you from putting them on the little arm that the filters fit on. Also the paper is very loose and not as many folds as most filters. It's very weird and I have never seen s1 filters that look like this before. I tried to put it on my spa both ways turning it this way in that but it just will not go on. I cut the plastic grid out of one but then it had so few paper folds it just sort of fell apart when it got wet.

Makes a strong chemical odor in spa! Something isn't right w/these!
Not only is there an oddly placed frame molded screen in the center which needs to be cut out with a razor blade in order to fit in the filter housing, but immediately upon turning on the bubbles in the spa these filters create an awful chemical smell that is really concerning. Not sure what these are made out of but I strongly suggest you buy real Intex brand S1 filters! Something about these is off entirely! If you have a Coleman, Intex, or Best way spa then just buy the Intex brand S1 filter 6 pack and the filter degreaser to clean the filter. I used 3 of the filters from this brand before I couldn't take it anymore. Not sure what they used to make the paper but some sort of chemical reaction is happening with them which creates a smell that is unbearable. The remaing 3 filters went into the trash because each and every one of them created the chemical fumes I am referring to. I went without filters until the real brand name filters came in because of how awful the smell was. I should point out that the water was completely drained and refilled with a brand new filter and zero chemicals added so the chemical smell was created entirely by this brand. Absolutely do not recommend this company whatsoever and would be interested in knowing what the chemical analysis would yield. It can't be good. Steer clear!

Perfect fit for our intex hot tub and are working well. These also stand up well to being washed, rinsed, and dried for re-use.

Filter is nice and strong, good pleating, hard to twist out of shape. It popped right into the holder for my Intex Pure spa.
