Shiny and elegant

The push button looks so beautiful on my countertops. Make sure you buy the air switch though! I bought them separate on Amazon for about $45. HomeDepot was selling them for $140…. Highest Quality Air Button on the market

My kitchen faucet is a Moen Oil Rubbed Bronze, and the Westbrass Oil Rubbed Bronze is a very close match. The best match that I have found, not only in terms of color match, but also in quality of the brass materials and finish. Beyond that color issue, particular to me and my Moen kitchen faucet, the Westbrass button is top of the line - the highest quality button that I have found on the market. Like many other consumers, I started by purchasing an Insinkerator air gap kit, which includes a chrome and white button, but not Oil Rubbed Bronze (or any other color, for that matter). The Insinkerator Oil Rubbed Bronze button cost an additional $16.50, did not match Moen Oil Rubbed Bronze, and as I learned after receiving it, is a poorly painted button made of stamped metal or plastic with a dull, not glossy oil rubbed bronze finish (as numerous Amazon reviewers have commented, the Insinkerator button has a dull finish, almost plastic like, that does not match the finish of higher end faucets like Kohler). Turn the Insinkerator button over and compare the edge thickness with the Westbrass, and the quality brass button that you are getting with Westbrass becomes readily apparent. The Westbrass switch body that goes into the hole is made of plastic, not brass, but in some respects that has value. Try to remove a defective metal switch after it is installed and has seen 10 years of use and corrosion, and you may have to go at it with a hammer or grinder (WD-40 doesn't always do the trick). Sinkingdom makes what appears to be a high quality brass switch, but the switch is modern, raised, with concentric circles forming a "pyramid", not basically flush with the surface as the Westbrass; but if that is what you are looking for, Westbrass makes a raised brass button too. The Sinkingdom button and switch body is of brass, and of very high quality throughout. Oddly enough, Moen makes a Venetian Bronze button, but not an Oil Rubbed Bronze button; I haven't quite figure out why, but I'm guessing that Moen's garbage disposers and accessories are actually made by Waste King. I tried to order a Moen Venetian Bronze button through Amazon, and found out that its not even readily available and will take two weeks for delivery. California Faucets and Waterinc also make high quality buttons made of brass, but only Waterinc makes a flush with the surface type button. California Faucets makes several versions of raised buttons, but the wait is about 2 months for manufacturing. Both have very high quality finishes and mad of brass, not plastic or stamped metal; Waterinc is a close, but not exact match to my Moen Oil Rubbed Bronze faucet. Both make many different finishes that will match, or come close to matching, some of the exotic finishes of companies like Kohler. Amazon has a few reasonably priced cheaper air switches, particularly Northstar which comes in 25+ finishes, and Bestill. I ordered a Bestill and found the finish to look like paint, not oil rubbed bronze, and the electric power supply to not have any UL markings (nor amperage, wattage, manufacturer, or anything) - a red flag indicating that it is most likely made in China and may not be up to U.S. standards. I returned it to Amazon because of this. Bestill itself states that the maximum capacity of its electrical controller is 3/4 hp. Northstar, on the other hand, claims that its electrical controller is made in the USA and can handle 1 3/4 hp, which is great if it really does.. I haven't found another manufacturer that claims 1 3/4 hp. And I haven't been able to find any info on the internet letting me know the maximum hp of the Intermatic, so that I could compare the competition to the leader. There are a few other manufacturers that you can try, Franke and Mountain Plumbing Products, for example, but you'll have a tough time matching the quality brass, fine finish, and pricing of the Westbrass button. Good luck! It's a very frustrating endeavor if you care about quality and consistency.

A nice looking easy to install air switch, but may not match your brushed nickel at home

Overall I'm happy with this purchase. Looks nice, fast delivery, easy to install, and is working as expected. So I would have given it 5 stars, but my one comment, is that the 'brushed nickel' does not resemble the brushed nickel on my kitchen faucet. The color is similar, but it has a smooth/shiny finish.

Surprising outstanding quality!

OUTSTANDING! I ordered this heavy-duty replacement air switch mainly because the original model's width was slightly too large to fit inside the hole. Our island sink is more of a "bar size", so the holes are not the standard 1 3/4" diameter for a kitchen sink. The holes I have are more of a bathroom size, which is slightly smaller. This piece fit like a charm, and should have no problem fitting in either a kitchen sink or bathroom / bar sink (the ring where the button is should cover both hole sizes). What I wasn't expecting was the *QUALITY* of the button on this thing! It is super top heavy, and weights about 2x-3x the weight of the "chrome colored metal" air switch fixture I previously had (yes - the difference is that noticeable). There is no doubt this piece is solid brass, and the chrome perfectly matches the other fixtures. It comes with a gasket to prevent water from seeping under the switch and into the cabinet. Another thing I really liked is the way the pressing of the switch feels. There is a nice feeling of heft & resistance while pushing the button. The other buttons I've tried (including InSinkerator's) feel a little cheaper and too easy to push. The pre-existing air tubing fits perfectly. I can either press quickly or slow. Either way, the garbage disposal turns on & off with ease. I couldn't be happier, and while I originally wasn't planning on purchasing a redundant secondary air switch column in hindsight I would do this again in a heartbeat even if the original one fit! Excellent job, Westbrass. I will certainly look into other fixtures you offer.

Sturdy Metal that will not fail you like the cheap plastic

I've installed a few of these after the cheap plastic buttons and switches that come with the air switch inevitably fail. These are built to last. You will pay more but will get longe life usage.

The picture of the item looked deceiving.

I was actually looking for a longer air switch. In the photo, the switch seemed to be longer than 3 inches. I needed 4 to 5 inches. When it arrived, it was 3-inches. I had to send it back. The description did say that the unit was 3-inches, but...failure to read. So, the unit was fine, it just wasn't what I needed.
