Does the Job - Good for stupid chickens that can't figure out most sophisticated water contraptions

At first I tried to get my chickens to figure out some less messy and more sophisticated and clean waterer setups that required using small cups and/or pecking nipples. None of them could hack it. I finally resorted to using these since simple scooping and gulping from a dish-like container is all they can handle. Unfortunately, waterers like these have to be cleaned/rinsed daily as someone always manages to crap in it or get dirt and other detritus stuck in it. I ended up buying two so that my flock of 7 alway has at least one semi-clean. Thanks to the basic metal construction they are super easy to rinse and keep semi-sterile. Definitely recommend if you have stupid chickens like mine.

Looks nice for the first couple of weeks.

I wanted to be fancy and bought this one over the plastic. It's more difficult to use and it rusted pretty quickly. I have since bought the plastic.

This is the best one. Doesn’t leak fits great on a heater and stays clean. With the warmer plate it works past -15°. I do wish they had a smaller size as this was overkill for three hens so much that it had to go in the run vs the coop because it took up the entire floor plan on the 2nd floor and made it so tall that this giant waterer was too tall for the height of the coop with the heater plate underneath. But without the plate it fit. Holds over 2gallons and lasts about a week in winter

Well made waterer. Arrives well packed and ready to use. Very pleased!

Well made waterer. Arrives well packed and ready to use. Purchased to use as winter is here and watering is a must WITHOUT it icing over or fully freezing. The outer cover adds protection. I also purchase a heater pad to use under it on really cold, below freezing days/nights.

Love the look - but hate the rust

So this has been used for 4 months, outside, undercover. It is now fully rusted on the inside, and the little stopper/latch peg that holds the top on, is so rusty that now water leaks all over. So Basically its now garbage. I am very sad. This one is more pricey than others, so i figured it would be fantastic..

For the price you think it would last more then a month or so, rusting already and is now leaking! Unbelievable would highly not recommend as you will have to look and buy another water feeder!!

Don't waste your money!!!

Rusted out completely in just a few months use. Very disappointing for the price. I loved the design and was easy to use, but now it's trash. Expected better then this from a brand name product.

Rusted in less than 2 months.

I have had the water can for less than 2 months and it's all rusted out. Highly disappointed. We are on city water and I have had it tested.

Acheté pour abreuver nos poules et canards, car nos poules remplissaient leur bassin de sable; ce qui les empêchaient tous de boire l’eau que nous y avions mise. Avantage: cette fontaine est plus solide que celles en plastique et on peut ajouter un élément chauffant sous sa base. Seul inconvénient pour nous: nos (vilaines) poules montent sur la poignée, ce qui fait couler l’eau. Nous avons dû modifier un peu notre installation. Très bon produit.
