Douglas Aircraft jej postavil jako náhradu za menší DC-2. Jeho cestovní rychlost 180 mph z něj činila nejrychlejší svého dne a přepravila o 11 cestujících více než Boeing 247. Not a beginners model!

Being retired, I have plenty of time to spend on a hobby that I have always wanted to try. The Douglas DC3 is my fourth model plane. And it is the best kit I have attempted yet. Take your time, be as exacting as you can, and you will end up with a very large piece you can be proud of. ( I think youngsters would find it quite frustrating and give up too soon.) The only flaw I found is that the "laser-cut pieces" need a lot of notch cutting. And the "prop" they include is a joke. Go to a hobby store and buy a couple of good plastic propellers if you want it to look right. I liked the photo on the box of an uncovered frame. So I spray painted it olive drab, did the props in silver, and hung it without the skin. Everyone who sees it comments on how great it looks and that they had no idea on how complex the detail of the frame actually is. (Just a suggestion, buy some Loctite Super Glue. Sets up fast and creates a strong bond!) TAS

Couldn’t be happier!

Bought this for my 91 year old father in law because he used to put them together when he was young. He absolutely loves it! It has kept him busy for two months so far and he isn’t finished yet. He says it takes him back to his younger days and makes him so happy. With COVID-19 keeping him inside for so long he was getting depressed. He said this brought him out of his doldrums. I’m looking for another one for him now to do once he’s done this one. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase, thank you!

Know what you are getting into!

From long ago working with Guillow kits, expected improvement with time and more modern equipment. Wrong. HORRIBLE DYE-CUTTING (way behind current model standards), terrible quality balsa...spending more time on fuselage frames then should ever be needed, as most stringer notches are little dents you have to try and guess how to cut out, and using a brand new razor blade with great care they fall apart anyways. I am an experienced builder so will make this all work somehow, but must say I am quite disappointed at a fun project turning into an annoying and frustrating slog for no good reason.

Classic stick and tissue model

The instructions on these Guillow's models are often indecipherable, but that is part of the fun! This is a good model for an intermediate modeler and it comes with all the components you need. Watch some youtube videos or talk to an expert to learn some tips on how to assemble these. It's made for hours of diversions during COVID-19 stay at home.

Gave this to my 91 year old Dad who like to build these types of planes. He said he is enjoying it although it is a bit complex to put together. He said he spends about an hour a day so he is taking his time. Certainly good if you have patience.

Nice model airplane

Good kit, Some of the balsa is pretty grainy and you have to repair some of the fractured pieces. Don't expect to build this one in a week!

My husband inspected it carefully upon arrival. As with another kit a piece is missing but he says he will call the kit company and ask for it. It keeps him busy and out of trouble.
